Mai 2007. Dort heißt es unter anderem:
1. "The 2007 work plan includes additional definition drilling to expand the resource, geotechnical drilling and testing for open pit and underground design, further metallurgical testing and optimization, geophysical surveys of additional exploration target areas and initiation of a formal environmental impact assessment process. The information expected from the 2007 work plan will move the Hackett River Project towards a NI43-101 compliant pre-feasibility study later in the season. The total approved exploration and development budget for the Hackett River Project is C$15 million for 2007."
2. Sabina will also expend approximately C$700,000 on drilling of high grade silver and gold zones at the Del Norte project in the Stewart-Eskay Creek Mining District which is due to commence shortly.
3. "Silver Corporation has current working capital cash and investments of over $60 million and is well funded to advance all its projects to the next level of value."
4. "The company will also expend up to C$450,000 for initial exploration of the newly acquired Rockstone zinc-silver project in the Thunder Bay Mining District. A recently flown airborne magnetic and electromagnetic survey has identified a variety of promising targets for follow up work."

London Ont. , 1/8/2008 / FSC / - Sabina Silver Corporation (TSX-V: SBB.V)is pleased to announce the final drill results from the 2007 drill program at its Hackett River project located in Nunavut. This announcement reports on the final completion of 17,106 meters of drilling completed in 65 drill holes during the 2007 program, and supplements the release of preliminary results issued on 4 September 2007.

The 2007 drilling campaign was primarily undertaken to complete development infill drilling to increase confidence level of the previously reported NI 43-101 compliant mineral resources, to explore areas where the mineralized envelope used in the previous resource calculation remained open at depth as well as to explore areas of anticipated mineralization within the likely footprint of the Project infrastructure layout.

Highlights encountered in the final stage of the 2007 drilling include:

* Drill intercepts from the Jo Zone, located approximately 4 kms from the proposed Hackett River milling site, suggest the potential for a fourth mineral deposit for the Project. Selected high-grade sub-intervals listed below from depths near surface to 115 meters indicate the exceptionally high silver and zinc grades encountered during the 2007 Jo Zone drilling:

--------------------------------------------------
Hole #        Interval    Zn     Ag      Cu        Pb      Au
               (m)       (%)   (g/t)    (%)       (%)    (g/t)
--------------------------------------------------
SHR-07-56       3.25     24.40   389     0.44     1.57     0.10
--------------------------------------------------
SHR-07-57       3.85     20.72   272     0.45     1.46     0.14
--------------------------------------------------
SHR-07-58       3.70     40.28   553     0.06     3.18     0.13
--------------------------------------------------
SHR-07-60       3.60     32.13   907     0.04     4.96     0.23
--------------------------------------------------

The deepest hole, SHR-07-60, returned 12.25 m grading 0.08% Cu, 1.71% Pb, 9.77% Zn, 537 g/t Ag and 0.30 g/t Au starting from 115.70 m. Locally values exceed 40% Zn and 1 kg/t Ag. The Jo Zone requires additional drilling to outline the extent of mineralization, and planning is underway for additional drilling in early 2008 to delineate this potential deposit, and is included in the $ 6.5 million budgeted for drilling at Hackett River in 2008.

* Thick drill intercepts from approximately 600 m below surface indicate the large Boot Lake deposit remains open at depth. Hole SHR-07-49 intersected 78.45 m grading 0.24% Cu, 0.86% Pb, 6.98% Zn, 179 g/t Ag and 0.09 g/t Au starting from 627.00 m. True thickness of the massive sulphide lens at this depth is estimated to be approximately 45 m.

Other news highlights include:

* AMEC continues work on a Pre-Feasibility Study for the Hackett River Project, which is currently estimated for completion in mid 2008.

* In November Sabina Silver's Hackett River Camp was awarded the inaugural Clean Environment Award by the Kitikmeot Inuit Association for demonstrating the highest level of environmental stewardship of any exploration camp on Inuit Owned Land within the Kitikmeot region.

2007 Drill Program

The 2007 drill program was completed in early November with a total of 17,106 m drilled in 65 holes. Results for the first 44 holes of the season were announced September 4, 2007. A summary table listing of composite assays from the remaining 21 holes of the season is available at:

Drill Hole Summary Table Final 2007 http://www.usetdas.com/maps/sabina/sabinaMININGCHARTjan8.pdf

The 2007 drill program included infill and step-out drilling to increase the confidence levels of a NI 43-101 compliant mineral resource outlined in a Preliminary Economic Assessment (announced 5 March 2007). As well, exploration drilling was undertaken at two of several known mineralized zones within Sabina's Hackett River property which could be affected by infrastructure layout required for the current Project design. Limited geotechnical drilling was also completed to provide preliminary information for civil and mine engineering design.

Jo Zone

The Jo Zone is located approximately 400 m SE of the East Limb of the Main Zone deposit along the same mineral horizon. Five holes (SHR-07-56, 58, 60 and Jo71-03 and 75-01) on one section line indicate mineralization continues from near surface to a depth of 115 m where it is still open. Hole SHR-07-57, located on a section line 50 m north, intersected 24.30 m of mineralization grading 0.64% Cu, 0.60% Pb, 6.46% Zn, 122 g/t Ag and 0.08 g/t Au. This mineralization started from the bedrock surface.

Additional drilling is required to confirm the orientation and extent of the Jo Zone mineralization. Jo Zone has significant potential to add near surface, high-grade tonnes to the existing Hackett River Resource.

Boot Lake Zone

Step-out and infill drilling at Boot Lake has confirmed continuity of mineralization from surface to a depth of 680 m. The deposit dips steeply to the SW and is open to depth. The practical depth limit for surface delineation drilling appears to have been reached.

Main Zone

A thermistor geotechnical hole was completed as was the last of the planned 2007 drill holes.

Patricia Zone

No significant mineralization was intersected in the Patricia target. Narrow mineralized late veins present in two of the holes are interpreted to have formed in the thermal aureole of a large diabase dyke located to the east.

A system of sample standards, blanks and duplicates were inserted as part of the Company's QA/QC analytical procedures for the sample stream processed at the accredited laboratory at ALS Chemex (Vancouver, BC). Mr. Douglas Kim, P.Geo. Project Manager for the Hackett River Project and Qualified Person under the terms of NI43-101 has reviewed the content of this press release and approved its dissemination.

Pre-Feasibility Study

Preparation of the Hackett River Pre-feasibility study by AMEC continues. AMEC has completed its initial assessment of the drill hole spacing for model definition purposes, and it is anticipated that limited additional infill drilling will be required prior to undertaking a Final Feasibility Study. Work has commenced on remodeling of the East Cleaver, Boot Lake and Main Zone deposits, and is expected to be completed in early 2008. A restatement of the resources for the Hackett River Project will be issued after completion of the modeling, and is expected in the first Quarter of 2008.

Engineering review of layout options, including milling site, tailings storage facility and waste dumps, has begun and will likewise continue into 2008. Review of mining options and preliminary designs has commenced. The Pre-feasibility study is expected to be available early Third Quarter 2008.

Environmental baseline investigation studies have been completed during this past field season for the Hackett site as well as the site of the proposed port and concentrate load out facility at Bathurst Inlet. Baseline monitoring will continue through the coming field season in 2008 in support of ongoing permitting activities. Filing of the Project Proposal with the Nunavut Government is planned for early 2008, and it is currently anticipated that the draft Environmental Impact Statement will be completed by late 2008 or very early in 2009.

Sabina's 100% interest in the Hackett River Project is subject to a 2% Net Smelter Royalty to Cominco Mining Partnership. Etruscan Resources Inc. retains a 10% Net Profits Interest capped at C$2 million.

Sabina Silver is debt free, with approximately $45 million in cash and securities of an additional $ 8 million as of the end of November 2007. In addition to advancing the Hackett River Project, the company is also drilling its Golden Sidewalk Project in the Red Lake Mining District, Ontario and is exploring the silver-zinc Rockstone Project in the Thunder Bay Mining District, Ontario.

Sabina Silver overview

Sabina Silver Corporation (TSX: V.SBB, Bullboards)/ (OTO: SBBFF, Bullboards) is one of a few publicly traded companies with truly large undeveloped silver resources located on one property. The company’s shares hold the potential for tremendous upside, but Sabina is far from being a darling among resource investors. We think that this will not be the case for too long. The company is on a steady track to success and is a likely acquisition target when the price of silver starts to move.

Sabina owns several properties (Hackett River, Del Norte and several Red Lake properties), and is actively drilling on most of these projects. But the main value is in its Hackett River Project, located in Nunavut, approximately 480 kilometers northeast of Yellowknife and 250 kilometers southwest of Hope Bay, Canada. It is also located 75 kilometers from a potential deep water port on Bathurst Inlet along the northern coast of the Canadian mainland.

Hackett River project

The Hackett River deposit was first discovered by Rio Tinto Exploration in 1956. In the 1970s, Cominco defined a historical resource and in the 1990s Etruscan completed geophysical surveys and drilling on the Main and East Cleaver Lake zones.

In 2003 Sabina signed an option agreement with Cominco and eventually acquired a 100% interest in the Hackett River property. Cominco still holds a 2% net smelter return royalty. In addition, there is a 10% net profits interest royalty retained by Etruscan Resources Inc. (TSX: T.EET, Bullboards) which is capped at $2,000,000.

Sabina defined the following NI 43-101 compliant resource:

Average grades are as follows: 4.67% zinc, 4.37 oz/st silver (149.89 g/t), 0.32% copper, 0.68% lead, and 0.009 oz/st gold (0.32 g/t).

Although zinc comprises about half of the resource total based on today’s market prices, the silver resource of over 250 million ounces is large by any standard.

Early in 2007, Sabina released the results from a preliminary economic assessment of Hackett River.

Highlights from preliminary economic assessment

It is expected that the Hackett River deposit will be mined by two open pits as well as via an underground decline.

Average annual production:

         12.4 million ounces silver
         324.7 million pounds zinc
         20.7 million pounds copper
         37.0 million pounds lead
         17.2 thousand ounces gold

The above silver production will put Sabina in the mid-tier silver producer category overnight (much bigger than Hecla Mining (NYSE: HL, Bullboards) as an example). Mine life is expected to be 13.6 years with a total life-of-mine production of 4.4 billion pounds of zinc, 169 million ounces of silver, 283 million pounds of copper, 504 million pounds of lead and 234 thousand ounces gold. Initial (three-year) capital costs are $527 million, taking into account the possibility that the deep water port and the all weather road to the Hackett property will be fully funded by Sabina Silver.

The required capital costs are likely to increase due to normal inflation as well as widespread price pressures in the industry. But we are confident that a negative surprise of Novagold’s (AMEX: NG, Bullboards)/ (TSX: T.NG, Bullboards) proportions is not probable here. There is no comparison with the rugged British Columbia mountains where Galore Creek is located to the gently undulating topography of Western Nunavut. The engineering design requirements of Hackett are being driven by the need to accommodate the climate and permafrost in civil and other design, which has been demonstrated can easily be done in such operations as the old Lupin Mine as well as the current diamond operations of Diavik and particularly Ekati. Oftentimes, the occurrence of permafrost is actually a significant advantage.

Wardrop Engineering performed an economic analysis for Hackett River using several metal price assumptions. The project economics are robust even for the most conservative case.

The project is sensitive to zinc prices. Although short term price action on zinc has been lackluster, we remain long term bullish on most base metals.

Today, zinc prices are lower (at around $1.11/lb), but silver ($15.30/oz), copper ($3.10/lb), lead ($1.17/lb) and gold prices ($863/oz) are all considerably higher. So it is reasonable to base our analysis on somewhere in between the “base case” and the “better case” scenario. Certainly, production costs have risen, yet being conservative, we believe that the value of Hackett River is around $1.5 billion and investors’ payback period is about 4 years - strong fundamentals for a project of this size.

The project is in one of the most mineral-rich, remote, but well developed areas in Canada. A new all-weather road is being planned that would link the Hackett River Project to the proposed deep water port facility on Bathurst Inlet. The road may receive federal and/or territorial funding. If this project is completed, it would have a highly positive effect on Hackett River.

Mining and acquisition activity in the neighboring areas

Sabina’s neighbors include Rio Tinto’s famous Diavik Diamond Mine and BHP Billiton’s Ekati Mine - the first diamond mine in Canada. Other companies with interests in the region include Newmont Mining (NYSE: NEM, Bullboards), Agnico-Eagle (NYSE:AEM, Bullboards)/ (TSX: T.AEM, Bullboards), Dundee Precious Metals (TSX: T.DPM, Bullboards), De Beers and Zinifex (OTO: ZFEXF, Bullboards).

In 2007 alone, there were three large acquisitions of companies operating in the area. Newmont Mining purchased Miramar Gold and its large gold projects – Madrid, Boston and Doris. Zinifex, a major Australian zinc/silver producer, took over Wolfden Resources to add to its portfolio some promising Nunavut properties. Agnico-Eagle (AEM) also joined the Arctic play by acquiring Cumberland Resources and its Meadowbank gold project in Nunavut.

It is likely that Sabina is on many majors’ list of acquisition targets. By adjusting market capitalization by the cash value on the balance sheet of $55 million, its enterprise value (EV) is only $78 million, a paltry sum for major and mid-tier mining companies. The total value of vast underground resources by comparison is over $12 billion, 159 times bigger than the EV.  This earned Sabina a place in the recently featured World Class Deposit Index.

Key management

Sabina’s Board of Directors appointed a new President and CEO in August. Because of added uncertainty and a general market panic, the stock fell and has not been able to fully recover since. In fact, the change in management was a highly positive development. Albert Brantley became the new President and CEO, bringing extensive mine development and construction experience to Sabina.  Before joining Sabina, Albert Brantley was the COO / Chief Development Officer at Oceana Gold which currently produces around 200,000 ounces of gold annually and has multiple development projects in New Zealand, Australia and the Philippines.  We have had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Brantley and believe that he is the right man for the job.

The outgoing President and CEO, who are exploration professionals rather than development experts, both remained on the Board of Directors.

Current situation and upcoming developments

According to our latest conversation with Mr. Brantley, there may exist some additional upside for the resource base. First assay results from additional drilling done this summer should be available by the end of January.

After the assay results are released, a resource update is going to be issued in the beginning of 2008. For the most part, Sabina will convert the remaining inferred resources into the indicated category, although an increase in the tonnage cannot be ruled out.

At that point, Sabina should have everything it needs to complete its pre-feasibility study by July 2008 (moved from the March deadline due to engineering firms’ backlog). Later in the year, the company will submit a draft Environmental Impact Study and complete a bankable feasibility study by early to middle 2009. Beginning of construction is anticipated in 2011.

With new management and $55 million in the bank, Sabina is well equipped and fully funded to complete both the pre-feasibility and the feasibility studies in the next 18 months.

Finally, we have been able to draw an interesting parallel for Sabina Silver. In the Resource Stock Guide database, there is one company that is almost identical to Sabina Silver in many respects: Apex Silver (AMEX: SIL, Bullboards)

Apex Silver, traded on the AMEX, is well known amongst the investor community. The notable differences between Apex and Sabina are geographical location, market valuation and the stage of the projects. Apex is entering production in a politically challenged Bolivia, while Sabina is still four to five years away from seeing first revenue from production in mining friendly Canada. Does that warrant a 30X difference in valuation? We find it hard to believe that it does.

It is a challenge to be a value investor. It often takes a long time to see any results. Yet rewards can be huge. The case for Sabina is straightforward. The longer Sabina Silver remains an independent company and avoids getting acquired by a larger company, the more we will benefit from Hackett River’s advance to production. We are loading up and exercising patience.

HACKETT RIVER 2007 FINAL DRILLING RESULTS:
NEW HIGH-GRADE JO ZONE AND 78.45 M OF MASSIVE
SULPHIDES AT 600 M DEPTH AT BOOT LAKE
Sabina Silver Corporation (SBB:TSX-V; SBBFF; RXC:DB) is pleased to announce the
final drill results from the 2007 drill program at its Hackett River project located in
Nunavut. This announcement reports on the final completion of 17,106 meters of drilling
completed in 65 drill holes during the 2007 program, and supplements the release of
preliminary results issued on 4 September 2007.
The 2007 drilling campaign was primarily undertaken to complete development infill
drilling to increase confidence level of the previously reported NI 43-101 compliant
mineral resources, to explore areas where the mineralized envelope used in the previous
resource calculation remained open at depth as well as to explore areas of anticipated
mineralization within the likely footprint of the Project infrastructure layout.
Highlights encountered in the final stage of the 2007 drilling include:
• Drill intercepts from the Jo Zone, located approximately 4 kms from the proposed
Hackett River milling site, suggest the potential for a fourth mineral deposit for the
Project. Selected high-grade sub-intervals listed below from depths near surface to
115 meters indicate the exceptionally high silver and zinc grades encountered during
the 2007 Jo Zone drilling:
Hole # Interval (m) Zn (%) Ag (g/t) Cu (%) Pb (%) Au (g/t)
SHR-07-56 3.25 24.40 389 0.44 1.57 0.10
SHR-07-57 3.85 20.72 272 0.45 1.46 0.14
SHR-07-58 3.70 40.28 553 0.06 3.18 0.13
SHR-07-60 3.60 32.13 907 0.04 4.96 0.23
• The deepest hole, SHR-07-60, returned 12.25 m grading 0.08% Cu, 1.71% Pb, 9.77%
Zn, 537 g/t Ag and 0.30 g/t Au starting from 115.70 m. Locally values exceed 40%
Zn and 1 kg/t Ag. The Jo Zone requires additional drilling to outline the extent of
mineralization, and planning is underway for additional drilling in early 2008 to
delineate this potential deposit, and is included in the $ 6.5 millionbudgeted for
drilling at Hackett River in 2008.
• Thick drill intercepts from approximately 600 m below surface indicate the large
Boot Lake deposit remains open at depth. Hole SHR-07-49 intersected 78.45 m
grading 0.24% Cu, 0.86% Pb, 6.98% Zn, 179 g/t Ag and 0.09 g/t Au starting from
627.00 m. True thickness of the massive sulphide lens at this depth is estimated to be
approximately 45 m.
Other news highlights include:
• AMEC continues work on a Pre-Feasibility Study for the Hackett River Project, which
is currently estimated for completion in mid 2008.
Thunder Bay, ON: January 8, 2008
Shares Issued: 66,433,775
- 2 -
• In November Sabina Silver’s Hackett River Camp was awarded the inaugural Clean
Environment Award by the Kitikmeot Inuit Association for demonstrating the highest
level of environmental stewardship of any exploration camp on Inuit Owned Land
within the Kitikmeot region.
2007 Drill Program
The 2007 drill program was completed in early November with a total of 17,106 m
drilled in 65 holes. Results for the first 44 holes of the season were announced September
4, 2007. A summary table listing of composite assays from the remaining 21 holes of the
season is available at:
Drill Hole Summary Table Final 2007
http://www.usetdas.com/maps/sabina/sabinaMININGCHARTjan8.pdf
The 2007 drill program included infill and step-out drilling to increase the confidence
levels of a NI 43-101 compliant mineral resource outlined in a Preliminary Economic
Assessment (announced 5 March 2007). As well, exploration drilling was undertaken at
two of several known mineralized zones within Sabina’s Hackett River property which
could be affected by infrastructure layout required for the current Project design. Limited
geotechnical drilling was also completed to provide preliminary information for civil and
mine engineering design.
Jo Zone
The Jo Zone is located approximately 400 m SE of the East Limb of the Main Zone
deposit along the same mineral horizon. Five holes (SHR-07-56, 58, 60 and Jo71-03 and
75-01) on one section line indicate mineralization continues from near surface to a depth
of 115 m where it is still open. Hole SHR-07-57, located on a section line 50 m north,
intersected 24.30 m of mineralization grading 0.64% Cu, 0.60% Pb, 6.46% Zn, 122 g/t
Ag and 0.08 g/t Au. This mineralization started from the bedrock surface.
Additional drilling is required to confirm the orientation and extent of the Jo Zone
mineralization. Jo Zone has significant potential to add near surface, high-grade tonnes
to the existing Hackett River Resource.
Boot Lake Zone
Step-out and infill drilling at Boot Lake has confirmed continuity of mineralization from
surface to a depth of 680 m. The deposit dips steeply to the SW and is open to depth. The
practical depth limit for surface delineation drilling appears to have been reached.
Main Zone
A thermistor geotechnical hole was completed as was the last of the planned 2007 drill
holes.
Patricia Zone
No significant mineralization was intersected in the Patricia target. Narrow mineralized
late veins present in two of the holes are interpreted to have formed in the thermal aureole
of a large diabase dyke located to the east.
A system of sample standards, blanks and duplicates were inserted as part of the Company’s
QA/QC analytical procedures for the sample stream processed at the accredited laboratory
at ALS Chemex (Vancouver, BC). Mr. Douglas Kim, P.Geo. Project Manager for the
Hackett River Project and Qualified Person under the terms of NI43-101 has reviewed
the content of this press release and approved its dissemination.
- 3 -
Pre-Feasibility Study
Preparation of the Hackett River Pre-feasibility study by AMEC continues. AMEC has
completed its initial assessment of the drill hole spacing for model definition purposes,
and it is anticipated that limited additional infill drilling will be required prior to
undertaking a Final Feasibility Study. Work has commenced on remodeling of the East
Cleaver, Boot Lake and Main Zone deposits, and is expected to be completed in early
2008. A restatement of the resources for the Hackett River Project will be issued after
completion of the modeling, and is expected in the first Quarter of 2008.
Engineering review of layout options, including milling site, tailings storage facility and
waste dumps, has begun and will likewise continue into 2008. Review of mining options
and preliminary designs has commenced. The Pre-feasibility study is expected to be
available early Third Quarter 2008.
Environmental baseline investigation studies have been completed during this past field
season for the Hackett site as well as the site of the proposed port and concentrate load
out facility at Bathurst Inlet. Baseline monitoring will continue through the coming field
season in 2008 in support of ongoing permitting activities. Filing of the Project Proposal
with the Nunavut Government is planned for early 2008, and it is currently anticipated
that the draft Environmental Impact Statement will be completed by late 2008 or very
early in 2009.
Sabina’s 100% interest in the Hackett River Project is subject to a 2% Net Smelter
Royalty to Cominco Mining Partnership. Etruscan Resources Inc. retains a 10% Net
Profits Interest capped at C$2 million.
Sabina Silver is debt free, with approximately $45 million in cash and securities of an
additional $ 8 million as of the end of November 2007. In addition to advancing the
Hackett River Project, the company is also drilling its Golden Sidewalk Project in the
Red Lake Mining District, Ontario and is exploring the silver-zinc Rockstone Project in
the Thunder Bay Mining District, Ontario.
