A San Francisco company that touts itself as a more consumer-friendly alternative to payday lenders has changed its name in an effort to establish a closer connection to its customers.
The 6-year-old lender, which was formerly called Insikt, announced Tuesday that its new name is Aura.

TEPCO PG, KDDI, SoftBank and Rakuten Mobile Network to Collaborate on Trials of Base Station Equipment Sharing Utilizing Electric Power Infrastructure
Tokyo, March 19, 2019 – TEPCO Power Grid, Incorporated (TEPCO PG), KDDI CORPORATION (KDDI), SoftBank Corp. (SoftBank) and Rakuten Mobile Network, Inc. (Rakuten Mobile Network) today announced that the four companies have reached an agreement to collaborate on trials of base station site and equipment sharing utilizing TEPCO PG’s utility poles and other electric power infrastructure, ahead of the introduction of 5th generation mobile communications systems (5G) in Japan. The trials are due to be begin in the first half of FY2019.

Im Mittelpunkt der Zusammenarbeit steht der E-Book- und Hörbuch-Katalog OverDrive, der öffentlichen Bibliotheken in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz vorgestellt werden soll. Libreka verfügt eigenen Angaben zufolge über ein Netzwerk von mehr als 40.000 Verlagen und über 1.000 nationalen und internationalen Handelspartnern.

Lyft Reportedly In Talks To acquire Cabify; Cabify Denies Reports

According to the sources of El Confidencial, Cabify and Lyft have been in acquisition talks for several months, which involved a visit by some of the US-based company's top executives to Madrid. The price point that's allegedly being considered is close to $3 billion. The final decision could take months to be made, the report says; if the parties were to agree on the deal, it would be announced by mid-2019.

Chinese customers shelled out more than JPY 1 trillion on Japanese merchandise during 2016 via cross-border e-commerce platforms, and Tokyo-based marketing research company Fuji Keizai estimates that the number is projected to more than double in 2019 to JPY 2.1 trillion.

Lyft is expected to price its shares on March 28 and begin trading on the Nasdaq the next day. If excessive demand continues, the company could decide to sell more shares or price them above the original range of $62 to $68 a share. A spokeswoman for Lyft declined to comment. Out-of-this-world experiences: Searches for space travel on Pinterest were up 70% in January compared with the year-ago month, while Airbnb said it has almost 3,000 homes listed that are equipped with telescopes.
Calling all thrill seekers: Pinterest searches for adventure travel are up 693% in January versus January 2018, including swimming holes (up 260% year-over-year), abandoned amusement parks (185%), cave diving (143%) and surprise destinations (192%). Airbnb said it also sees more searches for adventure- and passion-based travel, noting that it teamed up with the World Surf League in 2016 to unlock some 10,000 surfing-related experiences worldwide.
Who doesn’t love a good bargain?: Searches for budget travel on Pinterest were up 64% year-over-year in January. The top ride-hailing platform from Dubai, Careem, is making changes to turn their mobile app into more of an everyday platform that will be available for the Middle East and Africa.
In recent months, Careem has expanded into new markets across the region as well as tier two cities. Careem also leveraged the existing infrastructure built out for its ride-hailing service to launch online delivery for goods and services with initial efforts focused on food service. It also launched peer-to-peer, closed loop and prepaid credit transfer service to its consumer base. More recently, it introduced a rewards program, giving its 33 million users points on all rides.
