Was ich allerdings nicht nachvollziehen kann ist, wenn jemand eine Fixkostendegression bestreitet bzw. gar nicht sieht.
Ebenso nicht nachvollziehen kann ich, wenn jemand Netzwerkeffekte als Null gegeben ansieht - auch senn sie wesentlich kleiner sind.
Ob die Eintrittshürden sehr niedrig sind, muss sich m.E. noch herausstellen, auch bei den sozialen Netzwerken gab es in der Startphase viele, von denen nur wenige überlebten.
Und weil im Filing steht, dass das Nichterreichen des autonomen Fahrens die Rentabilität beinträchtigen kann, bedeutet das nicht, dass man auch ohne autonomes Fahren auskommen kann. Schließlich steht in den USA beim Kauf eines Backofens im Prospekt, dass dort die Katze hineinhüpfen kann und ein Dachhasenbraten entsteht.

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Japanese e-commerce firm Rakuten plans to expand its video-on-demand streaming service to 42 European countries, partnering with leading smart TV makers to offer movies in high-definition at the push of a remote-control button.
Loss-making Rakuten TV says it has nearly 7 million pay-per-view customers in a dozen countries. With the wider European rollout, planned for this summer, it estimates that it will reach more than 30 million European households.
Roca estimated that Rakuten TV would be available on more than 80 percent of the smart TVs that occupy increasingly large amounts of wallspace in living rooms around Europe.
Roca declined to disclose Rakuten TV's financials but said that "loyal" viewers typically watched two movies a month. The firm's revenues grew by nearly 40 percent last year.

The Rakuten Viki OTT TV platform has a reach of over 40 million users in 190-plus countries via Rakuten Viki and its Korean entertainment brand, Soompi. The company also includes a production arm that develops and invests in Viki Originals such as Dramaworld and upcoming co-productions with studios in Asia and Hollywood.

Our telecommunications network features a cloud architecture foundation in which
elasticity is of utmost importance. We have carried out load tests under a variety of
conditions on the functions such as the packet core, radio access and IMS. Through
these tests, we were able to discover problems early and make fixes to the software.
Going forward, we will concentrate on testing the cloud foundation, and make efforts to
maintain the elasticity of the cloud foundation regardless of the workload. Also, while
other operators are shifting from IPv4 to IPv6, we already have one of the largest IPv6
blocks in Japan, so massive scaling up is a possibility. In addition, the backbone
infrastructure has a transport capacity of 100 Gbps, and we will operate multiple
datacenters. Due to the above points, we believe our network architecture is capable of
scaling up in all areas, and will be able to respond flexibly to the increases in traffic.

Following its July 2018 investment in business lending company BlueVine Capital Inc., Nationwide has announced an expanded agreement to extend BlueVine financing to small businesses.
Nationwide will implement BlueVine's online platform for small business loans through its business solutions center. BlueVine offers up to $250,000 in working capital and up to $5 million in invoice factoring.
The platform is designed to render a decision within 10 minutes.

Sydney-based specialist insurance group POP Insurance Holdings and its subsidiary, Fusion Specialty M&A MGA, have entered a strategic partnership with Rakuten General Insurance to focus on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions in Japan.
The partnership is offering a full suite of transaction insurance solutions to serve the growing Japanese private equity and corporate M&A marketplace, including warranty & indemnity, tax opinion, and contingent liability offerings.
Under the arrangement, Rakuten will provide distribution, direct insurance paper and insurance administration services locally for the Japanese M&A insurance market.
In return, Fusion M&A will deliver capacity, as well as distribution, underwriting and claims management services to support Rakuten’s growth across Asia Pacific.

Hinzu kommt, dass man als maßgeblicher Anteilseigner von Cabify einen Merger von zwei Unternehmen mitgestalten könnte, der idealer nicht sein könnte.
Da allerdings nach den neuesten Regeln der Wert des Aktienbestandes quartalsmäßig angepasst werden muss, kann das - entsprechend den Kursbewegungen von Lyft - zu erheblichen Gewinnschwankungen führen, wie es z.B. auch bei Berkshire der Fall ist.
