... stehen wir kurz vor einer vehementen Aufwärtsbewegung! Die letzten Zahlen waren erstmals mit Minigewinn! Das Unternehmen ist also auf einem guten Weg sich auch mit Lizenzgeschäften zu behaupten. Das Resultat aus der Klage gegen Intel dürfte noch Monate, wenn nicht sogar Jahre dauern.

Beim Chipdesigner Transmeta findet zum 1. Februar ein Wechsel an der Firmenspitze statt. Lester M. Crudele wird dann neuer CEO und löst Arthur L. Swift ab. Einen Grund für das Ausscheiden von Swift gab Transmeta nicht bekannt.

Swift kam im März 2003 zu Transmeta, zunächst als Chef der Marketing-Abteilung, vor knapp zwei Jahren wurde er zum CEO bestellt. Zu der Zeit bahnte sich ein grundlegender Wechsel in der Firmenstrategie an, weg von der Produktion und dem eigenen Vertrieb von Prozessoren hin zum reinen Lizenzierungsgeschäft. Crudele ist seit rund 30 Jahren in der Halbleiter-Branche tätig, unter anderem als Chief Architect bei Motorola. Er gehört seit Juni 2005 dem Transmeta-Vorstand an. (anw/c't)

Transmeta to Demonstrate its LongRun2 Technologies with Fujitsu at DesignCon 2007

Transmeta's LongRun2 technologies provide semiconductor manufacturers and chip designers with innovative ways to reduce power consumption and reduce variations between chips. Among the many techniques developed by Transmeta is a unique new approach to controlling transistor leakage that is simpler to implement and requires less area than prior approaches. By controlling transistor leakage with LongRun2 techniques, chips can often be operated at lower power, and yield can often be improved for chips with tight power budgets. LongRun2 can help adjust leakage dynamically to provide both for the lowest standby power and for adjustment of performance and power during chip operation.

Transmeta kündigt drastische Entlassungen an
100 Mitarbeiter sollen gehen, rund 55 bleiben

Transmeta plant wieder einmal harte Einschnitte für seine Belegschaft. Das in den letzten Jahren deutlich geschrumpfte Unternehmen wird sich noch einmal von insgesamt 100 Mitarbeitern trennen, knapp zwei Drittel der Belegschaft.
Der einstige Chip-Hersteller will sich nun noch stärker auf die Entwicklung und Lizenzierung von Technologien konzentrieren. Das Unternehmen habe ein starkes Portfolio an Rechten aufgebaut, das nun zu Geld gemacht werden solle, erläutert Transmeta-Chef Lester Crudele.

Zunächst müssen 75 Mitarbeiter vor allem im Bereich "Engineering Services" gehen. Zudem werden die Vertriebs- und Support-Büros in Taiwan und Japan geschlossen. In den nächsten sechs Monaten sollen dann 25 weitere Mitarbeiter gehen, so dass am Ende etwa 55 Mitarbeiter übrig bleiben. Die genaue Zahl hängt davon ab, wie hoch der Supportaufwand für Microsofts FlexGo-Programm ist.

Durch diese Maßnahmen will Transmeta jährlich zwischen 17 und 23 Millionen US-Dollar an Kosten sparen. Zunächst einmal fällt ein Restrukturierungsaufwand von 11 bis 14 Millionen US-Dollar an.

Transmeta Receives Letter from Nasdaq Regarding Noncompliance with Minimum Bid Price Rule

Transmeta Corporation (NASDAQ:TMTA) today announced that on March 21, 2007 it received a letter from the Nasdaq Stock Market indicating that Transmeta is not in compliance with the Nasdaq Stock Market's requirements for continued listing because, for the previous 30 consecutive business days, the bid price of Transmeta's common stock had closed below the minimum $1.00 per share requirement for continued inclusion under Nasdaq Marketplace Rule 4450(a)(5) (the "Minimum Bid Price Rule"). Nasdaq stated in its letter that in accordance with the Nasdaq Marketplace Rules, Transmeta will be provided 180 calendar days, or until September 17, 2007, to regain compliance with the Minimum Bid Price Rule. This notification has no effect on the listing of the Company's common stock at this time.


The Nasdaq letter also states that if, at any time before September 17, 2007, the bid price of Transmeta's common stock closes at $1.00 per share or more for a minimum of 10 consecutive business days, the Nasdaq staff will provide the Company written notification that it has achieved compliance with the Minimum Bid Price Rule. However, the letter states that if the Company does not regain compliance with the Minimum Bid Price Rule by September 17, 2007, the Nasdaq staff will provide the Company with written notification that its common stock will be delisted from the Nasdaq Stock Market.

In the event that Transmeta were to receive notice that its common stock is delisted from the Nasdaq Stock Market, Nasdaq rules permit Transmeta to appeal any delisting determination by the Nasdaq staff to a Nasdaq Listings Qualifications Panel. In addition, in the event that such a delisting determination was based solely on non-compliance with the Minimum Bid Price Rule, Nasdaq Marketplace Rule 4450(i) may permit the Company to transfer its common stock to the Nasdaq's Capital Market if the Company's common stock satisfies all criteria for initial inclusion on such market other than compliance with the Minimum Bid Price Rule. In the event of such a transfer, the Nasdaq Marketplace Rules provide that the Company would be provided an additional 180 calendar days to comply with the Minimum Bid Price Rule while on the Nasdaq Capital Market.

Was glaubst du ? Sollte man  nochmal reingehen. Wie beurteilst du die Lage ?

... schwer zu sagen! Scheinbar gibt es nicht genügend Abnehmer für Lizenzen z.Zt.! Der Absturz erfolgte schon auf seltsame Weise?

Als TMTA das letzte Mal bei diesen Kursen stand, sah es auch so aus, als ob endgültig Feierabend ist und dann ist der Kurs wieder wie Phönix aus der Asche auferstanden.

Z.Zt. ist das aber Russisch Roulette hier einzusteigen. Transmeta schweigt sich völlig aus auf seiner Homepage und auch sonst ist in Nachrichtenbrettern nicht viel herauszufinden!

was so an lizenzeinnahmen von sony rueberkommt.
soweit ich informiert bin,hatte sony doch mit tmta ein lizenzabkommen fuer longrun2 im bezug auf cell-cpu´s geschlossen...welche auch in der ps3 verbaut sind.
das allein reicht nicht,aber ich werd vor den naechsten q-zahlen mal meine mittlerweile kleine position ein wenig aufstocken.
