Sehr überzeugend! Bin äußerst gespannt auf Montag!

Eigenartig, dass sich so wenige hier für Cytori interessieren... Ein Kursgewinn von 70% in einem Monat ist doch eigentlich mehr als aufsehenerregend! Scheinbar ist es spannender bei einem Gerümpel wie der Commerzbank ein paar Cent zu verlieren.

Promising Results Reported in Cell-Enriched Breast Reconstruction Trial

The highlights from the interim data of Cytori Therapeutics’ (NASDAQ: CYTX - News) RESTORE 2 clinical trial include:

• A high rate of patient satisfaction (73%) and physician satisfaction (82%) with the overall outcome after a single treatment was reported in difficult to treat breast cancer patients
• Mean patient and physician satisfaction scores dramatically improved for breast symmetry, scarring and deformity from baseline to six month follow-up
• Qualitative analyses of imaging data confirmed clinical improvement in both breast defect and overall breast shape

Breast conserving therapy (BCT) or partial mastectomy for breast cancer is a surgical technique that preserves as much native tissue as possible, focusing tissue removal on the target area affected by cancer plus some surrounding tissue for margin. The majority of patients treated with breast cancer today receive BCT. Although the goal is to protect as much of the patient’s own tissue as possible, the procedure can create a deformity that can be extremely difficult to repair. In patients with severe deformities, a tissue flap may be taken from the back and used to reconstruct the defect, but requires at least one additional surgery, creates another defect and scar at the donor site and can be a long and expensive procedure. For most patients however, there are no good reconstructive options. ....

Bad news isn´t it?
Now: today about 70% of breastcancer patients receive breast conserving therapy (BCT). (These patients were enclosed in the study)
The consequence of this therapy usually is a mutilation of breast´s appearence, aesthetics, selfasteem, selfconfidence, sexual activity ...

Until today, the main method of reconstruction for these defects are:
a) internal tissue transposition
b) silicon gel implants ( foreignbody, with possible complications)
c) regional or distant flap transplantation (creating a donor site defect)
or
d) a combination of the previously mentioned methods

Normal Fatcelltransplantation has been in use since more than 100 years by now. But the rate of surviving fatty tissue is usually somewhere in the range of 30%!!
It needs to be repeated several times and causes problems with monitoring of the breast because of the generation of microcalcifications (which can be confused with possible tumor regrowth), oily cysts and more, in mamograms.

By stemcell enriched Fattransplantation you will be able to change that without the production of a donor site defect (as long as the doctor knows how to perform a liposuction) which is otherwise created by harvesting a flap, which is transplanted into the defect. This usually leaves unsightly scars on the breast (receipient area) and on the back or belly (donor area).
stemcell enriched Fattransplantation causes much less microcalcifivations or oily cysts than conventional fattransplantation and the expected rate of tissue survival is estimated to be in the range of 70%.

There is still a lot of research to be done in this field to proof the safety and efficacy of this new method. The reason for this is very simple:
medicine is not arithmatics or physics!!!
in medicine 1+2 maybe 5 or perhaps -4, because, what we today regard to be the figure 1 (or 2) may in a few years turn out to be a completely different number because we will understand things better in the future (hopefully).

If this methods will proof to be safe, and there are longtermstudies done in Japan with a similar technique, showing no severe problems over time (5 years by now), this will be a great method for doctors and patients, in the treatment of breastcancer ( and quite a lot of other possible problems.

I hope that this has been a contribution to clarify, why I think that this technique will revolutionize plastic surgery.

... Aktien auf gute Nachrichten hin zu kaufen, endet wohl überdurchschnittlich oft als Fehlschlag. Hab ich hier übrigens nicht, aber bei der Entwicklung hab ich schon aufgehorcht... charttechnisch war sie zwar auch vorher schon m.E. über ihren Zenit hinaus; aber der heutige Rückgang ist in jedem Fall ne herbe Überraschung.

Die 6,65 USD hatte ich aber schon längers angesagt als Widerstand.
Und wenn ne Aktie über 100% in wenigen Wochen steigt, sind Gewinnmitnahmen normal.
Bis 4,80 hinunter wäre sehr normal, aber noch gibt es auch die Chance auf reversal und weitersteigen, denn die Studienergebnisse waren hervorragend.  

wirklich ein toller Service! Bin wieder mit knapp 10 k Stück dabei. Nach diesen Studienergebnissen gibt es ja keinen Zweifel mehr, wie der Kurs weitergehen wird!

Übrigens beeindruckende Umsätze heute!

soweit ich weiß im 1. HJ 2010. Am besten mit Partnerdeal.

Übrigens: Während dem enormen Anstieg ist auch die shortquote stark angestiegen. Da haben also permanent shorties versucht zu bremsen und es ist nicht gelungen. Gute Herzdaten und ein deal dazu, dann wird man sehen was ein shortsqueeze bedeutet.

Am Jahresanfang waren gerade mal 1,7 mio Aktien short.
Bis Herbst stieg das auf 3 mio Stücke an.
Im Dezember sprang shortvolume auf über 5 mio Stücke!

Ok, das Handelsvolumen stieg auch stark an, so dass "days to cover" nicht so hoch ist wie im Sommer. Aber sollte im 1. Quartal Apollo mit einem Partnerdeal kommen, dann zündet ein squeeze, der sich gewaschen hat.

Da die Kursentwicklung doch ziemlich zu wünschen übrig ließ und Cytori die letzte Aktie in meinem US-Depot war, habe ich den letzten Kursanstieg genutzt, um das Depot komplett aufzulösen.
Die Zeit, um andere Werte zu traden, wozu ich das Konto überhaupt einmal eingerichtet hatte, hatte ich nicht mehr. bzw. ich wollte sie mir nicht mehr nehmen.  

Wegen toller Neuigkeiten! Wieso schlummert die Aktie in diesem Forum so vor sich hin? Demnächst bei USD 30!  

 

SAN DIEGO, Jan 08, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The FDA has granted Cytori Therapeutics (NASDAQ: CYTX) 510(k) marketing clearance for its PureGraft(TM) System. Cytori will now launch the first and only device in the United States cleared for aesthetic body contouring using autologous fat. PureGraft(TM) allows a patient's own fat tissue to rapidly be prepared in approximately 15 minutes for re-injection back into the same patient for aesthetic contouring.

PureGraft(TM) is able to prepare both small and large volumes of fat grafting tissue ranging from 50 mL to 250 mL. Puregraft(TM) maintains sterility while optimizing the yield of tissue to be grafted, which provides significant utility to physicians. In contrast to traditional methods of graft preparation, PureGraft(TM) washes the graft and drains the tumescent fluid, free lipid and debris in a closed sterile system, allowing for a cleaner graft in less time than it would take to prepare a comparable volume of graft tissue traditionally.

"FDA clearance provides us with a strategically important product in addition to the CelBrush(TM) to help establish our brand and build relationships with U.S. plastic and reconstructive surgeons," said Marc H. Hedrick, M.D., President of Cytori Therapeutics. "There are several advantages this product offers physicians performing autologous fat grafts, which can improve efficiencies in the operating room, decrease surgery time and, by being able to process greater volumes, to include large defects."

PureGraft(TM) will be sold in the United States directly by Cytori as well as through select distribution partners on a non-exclusive basis. The product will be available in the first quarter of 2010 and will be formally launched at the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons in May 2010.

Cytori is also seeking marketing approval (CE Mark certification) for PureGraft(TM) in Europe, which is expected in the first half of 2010. In Europe, PureGraft(TM), in addition to being sold as a standalone product, will be used to complement Cytori's currently available autologous tissue processing system as a means to expand the potential number of clinical applications.

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons' most recent report of plastic surgery statistics, over 46,000 fat grafting procedures were performed in the United States in 2008. Currently, over 5,000 plastic surgeons are registered with the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Das ist sicher noch nicht der Heilsbringer für Cytori, sondern ein geschickte Lösung zur Aufwaschung von Eigenfettspende.

Stammzellenaufbereitung ist dann der echte Schub. Ich bin sehr gespannt auf die Herzinfarktdaten. Wenn die halbwegs ausfallen ist CYTX über 10.  

 

Ich hatte es als bestcase-Szenario, aber es ging noch etwas schneller.

Mittelfristiges Kursziel: 14,50$

Rückblick:
Die Anfang November anvisierte Kurszone mit gut 7$ wurde zügig erreicht.
Um die alte Marke 6,65 wurde mit hohem Volumen heftig gekämpft.

Die Situation:
Der gelungene Ausbruch über 6,65 ist ein sehr gutes Zeichen.
Viele technische Indikatoren in verschiedenen Zeitebenen sind aber stark überkauft.
Sehr positiv ist die Volumenentwicklung: Cytori wird zunehmend wahrgenommen und auch gekauft. Der Absturz 2008 bis 2009 von 8 auf 1,42 erfolgte unter viel geringerem Volumen als die aktuell gegenläufigen Kursschübe. Dadurch ergibt sich im Kapitalflußindikator OBV eine starke bullische Divergenz mit besten Aussichten für die künftige Entwicklung.
Der Kurs ist letzte Woche mit einem heftigen Kurssprung am roten Abwärtstrend hängengeblieben.
Die Aktie hat aktuell ein sehr starkes Momentum.

Der Ausblick:
Als Hürden voraus liegen der rote Abwärtstrend und die alte und möglicherweise nicht so bedeutende Marke bei 8,56 vom Hoch 2008. Die 10 und damit die Zweistelligkeit ist alleine aus psychologischen Gründen gewichtiger einzustufen.
Nach unten gibt es die Unterstützungszone zwischen knapp 6 und 6,65.
Den extrem steilen Aufwärtstrend (grün, dünn) halte ich nicht für haltbar.
Die nächsten Wochen erwarte ich ein heftiges auspendeln und konsolideren zwischen 6,65 (min 6,00) bis 8 (max 8,56).
Shorties werden versuchen mit einem blauen Auge davon zu kommen, Nachzügler werden Kaufgelegeheiten vor der Meldung der Herzdaten und dem anvisierten Partnerdeal suchen.

Aus der Ausbruchsformation ergibt sich ein Kursziel von 14,50. Das könnte bis Herbst erreicht werden. Sollten die Herzdaten schlecht reinkommen und damit auch keine Aussichten auf einen zügigen Partnervertrag bestehen, dann ist aber mit einem schnellen Absturz unter 4 zu rechnen.
(Nach-)Kaufgelegenheiten unter 6 erwarte ich jetzt überhaupt nicht mehr. Wenn man um 6,50 noch was abgreifen kann, dann dürfte man sehr gut bedient sein.
