The first patient has been treated in the U.K. in Cytori's RESTORE II post-marketing study. This is important because the goal of the study is to obtain reimbursement for Cytori's Celution(R) 800 System in Europe for use in partial mastectomy reconstruction. Reimbursement can help increase access to the hundreds of thousands of patients who are eligible to undergo partial mastectomies each year in Europe.

The study is evaluating the use of fat grafts enriched with adipose-derived stem and regenerative cells for breast reconstruction. The cells in RESTORE II are being made available at the time of surgery using Cytori's Celution(R) 800 System. Up to 70 women will be enrolled at up to seven clinical centers in the U.K., Italy, Spain, and France. Primary endpoints will be measured at six and 12 months after surgery, with data becoming available shortly thereafter.

Cytori Therapeutics "strong buy," target price raised

NEW YORK, June 11 (newratings.com) - Analysts at WBB Securities reiterate their "strong buy" rating on Cytori Therapeutics Inc (CYTX). The 12-month target price has been raised to $12.

In a research note published this morning, the analysts mention that the company commenced Celution System in Asia and Europe in 1Q08, shipping and selling 13 Celution 800 Systems. The next generation Celution CTX System, which is under development and would be available in the market in 2009, is expected to provide Cytori Therapeutics the ability to meet the global demand for the Celution System in the upcoming years, the analysts add. The list of potential applications in adipose-derived stem cells (ADSC) continues to rise, WBB Securities says.

Das Handelsvolumen explodierte geradezu mit den Kursen!  

Den kompletten Ausbruch wieder abgegeben.
Das Ausbruchsgap wurde zwar angetestet, konnte aber noch nicht ganz geschlossen werden. Muss aber auch nicht sein. Trotz allerhöchstem Volumen.

Indikatoren weitgehend wieder entspannt.  

Nun gilt es wieder:
Wieder hoch zu den Höhen oder eine Weile zäh quer?
Den Indikatoren nach würde ich sagen, dass es gute Chancen Richtung 8 gibt.  

Gegenüber meinem bevorzugten Ausbruchsszenario in grün hat Cytori erst nach oben übertrieben und dann nach unten auch.
Es wurde nochmal mit höhcstem Volumen ins Ausbruchsniveau hinein korrigiert.
2006 waren noch Wochenvolumen um 100 000 Stücke normal.
2007 zog dies an auf 200 bis 300 000 Stücke wöchentlich, selten mal über 500 000.
Jetzt ist es die 4. Woche hintereinander mit jeweils über 1 mio Stücke!
Offensichtlich mobilisiert der Ausbruch massives Interesse.

Gegen das Kursziel 9 spricht aus charttechnischer Sicht immer noch nichts. Unter 6 sollte es aber nicht mehr fallen.  

 

In einigen Monaten sollte Eintragung erfolgen.

Cytori Receives U.S. Patent Allowance for Protecting Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgery Product Line

Cytori Therapeutics (NASDAQ: CYTX) received a Notice of Allowance from the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office for a patent application that covers methods of creating a cell-enhanced graft using a closed system to process adipose-derived stem and regenerative cells.

This patent will specifically protect Cytori's Celution® System-based devices and methods essential in novel cosmetic and reconstructive surgery procedures. This is an important development to Cytori because it creates a stronger barrier-to-entry against potentially competitive methods specifically within the cosmetic and reconstructive surgery market and protects in the U.S., a product currently on sale in many countries around the world.

The methods and devices covered by this patent may be useful to protect products treating a variety of clinical applications beyond breast reconstruction such as the general repair of soft tissue defects, breast augmentation, facial reconstruction and augmentation, vocal cord repair, soft tissue defects secondary to radiation therapy as well certain urologic and gastrointestinal conditions. In these applications, the Celution System is used to mix a patients own adipose derived stem and regenerative cells with their own unprocessed adipose tissue to generate a cell enhanced graft that performs significantly better than grafts alone.

 

In a recent investigator initiated clinical study in Japan for breast reconstruction in women with breast cancer, cell enhanced grafts generated using Cytoris Celution System were found to be both safe and effective. Cell enhanced grafts are also currently being used in a Cytori sponsored post marketing study in Europe designated as RESTORE II. The RESTORE II study is a breast reconstruction study in breast cancer patients who have undergone partial mastectomy.

More than one million women worldwide are diagnosed with breast cancer annually. A growing percentage of these women are eligible for partial versus full mastectomies. However, partial mastectomy often results in irregular tissue loss in the breast for which these women have few, if any, reconstructive options. Denen geht bald der cash aus, aber man solle sich zur Finanzierung überraschen lassen. Naja, für eine Spekulation reicht es. Interessant auch: Die shortquote ist die letzten Wochen stark angestiegen. Jetzt über 3 mio Stücke short....

Es gab zwar nochmal einen herben Rückschlag zurück in die Seitwärtsrange, aber das sieht doch sehr nach Bärenfalle aus?
Dazu passend eine immens hohe gemeldete shortquote in USA: Über 3 mio Stücke. also mehr als 10% wurden leer verkauft!

Der Cashbestand von Cytori wird zunehmend knapper im laufe der nächsten 3 Monaten muss ein starker cash-deal oder/und eine Kapitalerhöhung her.
Die Umsaätze mit den Cellutionsystemen werden ja erst ab 2009 so richtig hochgefahren, wenn die Fertigungskapazitäten mit Olympus aufgebaut sind.

Und in Deutschland vorkaufen, bevor US wieder hochziehen.....
Morgen ist HV. Und eine dicke Meldung, wie der cash bis 2009 sichergestellt werden soll, kommt die nächsten Wochen auch. :-)  

Vielleicht auch Aussagen zur cashbeschaffung?  

Nachdem die Li´qui für F&E wieder in Richtung aufgebraucht ging, hat Cytx wieder eine KE durchgeführt. Aktien zu 6USD, insgesamt 17 mio USD. 1 Million Aktien durch Olympus garantiert.
Manager sinds ansonsten sehr zufrieden mit Entwicklung und Perspektiven. Der Kurs geht aber dank KE in den Keller. :(

Körpereigenes Gewebe ist sicherer als Silikon und haltbarer als Macrolane


Silikonimplantate haben – abgesehen davon, daß sie Fremdkörper sind und unnatürlich aussehen – eine Reihe von schwerwiegenden Nachteilen: Wußten Sie, daß Frauen mit Silikonimplantaten oft jahrelang Schmerzen haben, wenn sie in kühlem Wasser schwimmen gehen oder kalt duschen? Die Implantation macht sichtbare Narben notwendig, vor allem aber leiert sich die Brust nach einigen Jahren durch das Gewicht des Implantats aus und operative Straffungen mit Implantattausch werden nötig. Welche Wirkung die jahrzehntelang vom Implantat in den Körper abgegebenen kleinsten Silikonmengen haben, weiß heute kein Arzt. Auch wenn kein Beweis für Krebsverursachung oder Giftwirkung besteht – Vorsicht ist angebracht! Körpereigenes Gewebe ist sicherer als Fremdkörper!

Bei Macrolane wird die Hyaluronsäure durch kleine Einschnitte unterhalb der Brust in nußgroßen Depots in die Brüste injiziert. Das bedeutet, dass bei jeder neuerlichen Einspritzung neue Einschnitte gemacht werden müssen, die natürlich wieder sichtbare Narben hinterlassen. Die nußgroßen Depots sind in den Brüsten als Verhärtungen fühlbar, weswegen sich Macrolane nicht für jede Brust eignet.

Zu den Kosten des Eingriffs: Da die Herstellfirma Qmed Ärzten für 10 ml Macrolane 350 (!) Euro verrechnet ist leicht zu errechnen, dass der Preis für eine Vergrößerung um relativ übliche 200 ml pro Seite ca. 14.000 Euro zuzüglich Chirurgenhonorar, Anästhesistenhonorar, OP-Raum-Gebühr etc. betragen würde. Wer will schon alle 2 Jahre soviel ausgeben?

Kein medizinischer Eingriff ist risikolos, aber jeder Frau wird intuitiv einleuchten, daß von einem Fremdkörper mehr potentielle Gefahr ausgeht, als von körpereigenem Gewebe.

Die Darstellung der Nachteile der Stammzellmethode in WOMAN 15/08 ist unzutreffend und wird in keiner Weise durch Studienergebnisse bestätigt. Bei weltweilt mittlerweile mehreren 1.000 behandelten Patientinnen ist kein einziger Fall einer „Gewebewucherung“ oder „Nichteinheilung“ dokumentiert worden. Der Verdacht liegt nahe, daß diese „Risiken“ nur Abwehrbehauptungen jener plastischen Chirurgen sind, die sich über die Stammzellmethode nicht informiert haben und ihr Geschäft mit dem „schnellen Schnitt“ (OP-Dauer bei Silikonimplantaten: 15 min) in Gefahr sehen.

Dieses Verfahren erlaubt keinen „schnellen Schnitt“ für den Chirurgen, weil es sehr zeitaufwendig ist, zeitigt aber die besten möglichen Ergebnisse für die Patientin – Die mit körpereigenen Stammzellen vergrößerten Brüste sehen in jeder Position und in Bewegung völlig natürlich aus und fühlen sich auch so an, da sich aus den injizierten Stammzellen lebendes Fettgewebe bildet. Bei dieser Methode bleibt keinerlei sichtbare Narbe zurück.

NOTTINGHAM, United Kingdom, Sep 24, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Two surgeons today reported their experience in performing cell-enhanced reconstruction on 52 patients from Europe and Israel. The procedures included breast reconstruction post-partial mastectomy, breast implant salvage, as well as facial and other cosmetic applications, demonstrating the increased clinical utility for cell-enhanced reconstruction.

The results are consistent with previously reported outcomes of cell-enhanced reconstruction. This is a procedure whereby an autologous fat graft, enriched with adipose tissue-derived stem and regenerative cells, is used to correct or fill a soft tissue defect. The stem and regenerative cells were made available at the time of surgery using Cytori's Celution(R) 800/CRS System. The cases, performed by Claudio Calabrese, M.D., Associate Professor of Surgery at The University of Florence Hospital and Michael Scheflan, M.D., Medical Director of Atidim Medical Center in Tel Aviv, were reported at the 2008 International Meeting of Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgery.

"We believe enriching autologous fat grafts with adipose tissue-derived stem and regenerative cells improves volume retention compared to traditional fat grating," said Dr. Calabrese. "Evidence suggests that improved predictability and survivability of a cell-enhanced fat graft is achieved through improved blood supply and the reduction of fibrosis within the graft, without the risk of immune rejection or disease transmission."
