Joining us now is Aloysius Laukai from New Dawn Radio says voters would have been concerned by the possibility of a leadership change so close to Bougainville's upcoming referendum on independence, giving Momis a distinct advantage.

The president elect of Bougainville John Momis says he has made it clear he is willing to work with all factions for the benefit of the region.
Mr Momis won a resounding re-election after the end of counting in the autonomous Papua New Guinea region at the weekend.

His margin over the second placed former head of the Bougainville Revolutionary Army, Ishmael Toroama, was nearly 33,000 votes.
Mr Momis says he has a long standing policy that leading Bougainville is a collaborative effort and he wants to harness the talent among the eight men who ran against him.
"I think it is only to the advantage of Bougainville if all of us can work together and in fact I am inviting to those who contested against me and lost to come to my inauguration to start talking about how work together and work for the common good of Bougainville."
The inauguration of the Bougainville president is next Monday, June 15th.

They need to employ those who contested in this election. On the peace process in Bougainville there are many responsibilities that other people can play, and also there will be some of us who have not contested in this election but will be making representations to whoever wins to keep all of us together in the same boat. We can not afford to have a split before the referendum."

Bougainville's re-elected president says one of his first moves will be talking with Rio Tinto on whether it is interested in re-opening the Panguna mine.
John Momis won a resounding victory after counting in the autonomous Papua New Guinea region was completed at the weekend.
Bougainville is to conduct a vote on possible independence before 2020 and Mr Momis says mining is the only way to quickly achieve the necessary fiscal self-reliance required before then.
He wants to talk with Rio Tinto first because they ran the Panguna mine, through Bougainville Copper Ltd, before the Bougainville Conflict.
"Hoping we can come to an agreement to start taking some practical steps to re-open the mine, but if Rio Tinto chooses not to engage us then we have other options to look at."
President elect John Momis.
Rio Tinto has indicated it is reviewing its position after the outgoing government passed a new mining law.
John Momis won a huge majority in the autonomous Papua New Guinea region's presidential race, easily defeating the eight men running against him.

United States Congratulates Bougainville Election Winners
“The United States of America salutes the government and people of the Autonomous Region of Bougainville for conducting peaceful elections.”
Uma warns to cancel peace meet
By ROMULUS MASIU
President of Me’ekamui council of chiefs, Chris Uma, says the planned reconciliation by Bougainville Copper Ltd (BCL) will not take place.
Mr Uma, who is one of the Me’ekamui Chiefs, gave the warning yesterday while blasting the BCL management and the board for failing to honour and respect the customs and traditions of the Bougainville people by proposing to pay for and host the traditional domang mingta or peace ceremony.
He said the proposed domang mingta is only reserved for high chiefs in the Bougainville society.
Mr Uma said by allowing this ceremony to proceed will set a very bad precedence in our society where any foreigner with money will buy his way back into our society and be forgiven after causing adverse disruptions to human lives.
“Let me put it bluntly, there will be no such ceremony by Bougainville Copper Limited here in Arawa or Buka and that is final,” he said in a press statement.
The council president said if BCL and its officers continue to disobey the orders by me and the traditional council of chiefs, they will not be welcomed here in Arawa and Bougainville.
The proposed bel kol reconciliation as agreed by both BCL and ABG officials is scheduled for July this year when BCL will compensate Bougainvilleans for destruction of properties and lives during the Bougainville crisis.
Mr Uma has warned Panguna landowners to stop breaking traditional customs for selfish and short-term cash benefits for themselves and think about those who lost their loved ones because of them (Panguna landowners) and the same company BCL.
He said if Panguna landowners continue with their plan, then the Me’ekamui Council of Chiefs will take action to protect the Bougainville society and custom.
Mr Uma further stated that the peace ceremony is a massive responsibility for all to partake, adding that Bougainville people are not the only ones who lost lives during the conflict, Papua New Guinean servicemen and ordinary Papua New Guineans were also killed during the height of the decade long conflict.
“Therefore, it’s only fitting that if we co-exist with the rest of PNG in peace now and for the future, the ceremony must be hosted by the Me’ekamui Chiefs and the National Government headed by Peter O’Neill,” Mr Uma said.
He said the ABG must play a leading role on the issue as it’s the peoples’ government, headed by ABG President John Momis, who takes his traditional role and participate as Bougainville Chief with the Bougainvilleans.
Prime Minister O’Neill to Begin European Trade Mission
The Prime Minister, Hon. Peter O’Neill CMG MP, will lead a business and government delegation to London, Brussels and Paris over the coming week that will expand investment and stimulate increased business engagement with Papua New Guinea.

Gold
0,33g x 573.000.000 Tonnen Erz = 189.090.000 Gramm:31,1 =6.080.064 Unzen
6.080.064 x 1187 USD = 7,2 Mrd (gerundet)
Kupfer
0,30% x 573.000.000 Tonnen Erz =1.719.000.000 kg = 1.719.000 Tonnen
1.719.000.000 Tonnen x 5903 = 9,9 Mrd USD
= Rohstoffwert gesamt 17,1 Mrd USD
