Rakuten wesentlich besser als Rocket

The advancement of 5G technology would allow insurers to process health data at an unprecedented rate and perform more dynamic underwriting based on real time information from consumers. As the industry moves into the next generation of wearables recording all forms of health data, "5G will put the insurance sector on rocket power" with it significantly increasing the speed of networks by 100 times, according to Dacadoo president and CEO Peter Ohnemus.

If you company is looking to better communicate effectively with customers in Cambodia then Rakuten Viber offers an effective solution, Viber’s Head of Business Development for Southeast Asia, Anubhav Nayyar, told assembled Cambodian business leaders at Raintree on Wednesday night.
With more than 1 billion users worldwide, the app is clearly popular, but comes up against stiff competition for communications domination in Cambodia, where Facebook’s Messenger and Whatsapp, and Telegram, have proven popular.
He noted that Cambodia has three attractive attributes for Viber: high smartphone ownership, low mobile data prices, and fast data speeds, and with almost 2 million Viber users already in Cambodia, and some 3.4 million sticker pack downloads, Cambodian’s have already shown an interest in Viber’s communication tools.

"Hence, I want to offer the reader a supplementary valuation scenario. Let's assume a 15% growth rate and a terminal PE ratio of 15 as well. This would imply that the RKUNY would be trading at a PEG ratio of 1, which is a good proxy for fair value. With these inputs, my model indicates a fair value of $14.99 per share for Rakuten."
Rakuten has a P/E which is a lot lower than 15 and competitors has a lot higher PEG's than 1.

"The wonderful thing about both these service providers is that they're pretty much greenfield, so unlike some of the existing telecommunication providers who need to think about how they utilise the assets they've invested in, how they make new 5G technology, for instance, coming forward backwards-compatible with their 4G networks and their fixed-line networks, these players can really do very pioneering things."

Nach meinen Schätzungen liegen wir dabei bei ca. 5%, wodurch die Beteiligung von Rakuten an Pinterest einen Wert von ca. 750 Millionen hätte.
All-IP, 4G-only operator Reliance Jio was formed in 2016 by oil and telco billionaire Mukesh D Ambani, who ramped up rapidly by offering very low-cost bundles. In mid-2018, Jio announced adding 28.7 million customers during a period of just three months, after adding 26.5 million in the prior quarter.
Independent benchmarking company OpenSignal called Jio's 4G availability and rapid rate of customer growth "remarkable" and "hugely impressive" at the end of 2018.
Both Jio and Rakuten are pioneers, Suzuki told ZDNet, with Cisco helping the former build out its evolved packet core and "deal with the hyper-density of the small cells".

Cabify’s e-scooter subsidiary MOVO lands €20 million
April 10th, 2019
Spanish micromobility startup MOVO, a subsidiary of the local Uber rival Cabify, has raised €20 million in a funding round led by Mutua Madrileña, with participation from Seaya Ventures and Cabify. The company plans to use the fresh funding to expand in Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay.
Founded in 2017, MOVO is an e-scooter and moped sharing platform that currently operates in Spain, Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Peru. The company plans to increase its fleet across Latin America and be present in 10 countries by the end of this year.
MOVO emphasises that it’s willing to work together with municipal governments in the cities it operates in, as well as help creating relevant policies. “We are committed to working together with governments to complement mass public transport with these new micromobility alternatives so that people can get around in a more sustainable and efficient way,” said MOVO CEO Pedro Rivas.

Why Viber Is the Most Secure Messaging App Around
By Matan Kaufman
Viber can’t read or listen to any of your chats and calls
Unlike other messaging apps, Viber simply can’t read your personal chats – including one-on-one chats, group chats, audio and video calls. We can’t access your messages since we use end-to-end encryption by default. This means that all your private and group communications are completely encrypted so that only you and the people you’re talking to can read or hear them.
How does it work? End-to-end encryption sends your messages from your device to your friend’s device, be it mobile or desktop, as a scrambled code so that only their device is able to translate your messages into plain text
Furthermore, unlike other messaging apps that listen in on your private conversations and turn your chats into valuable data for advertisers, Viber simply can’t sell your private conversations since we can’t access or read

The Western part of Europe and the US have Messenger and WhatsApp. China has its WeChat, Russia and Latin America are dominated by WhatsApp. However, there’s one more not so small player on the messaging platforms market that costed the Japanese giant Rakuten $900M back in 2014 and it is trying hard to penetrate Eastern Europe – rather successful. As of September 2018, the app has a bit over 1B users worldwide and claims it has surpassed WhatsApp in Russia. Pushing its privacy, encryption and not collecting any data as a USP, Viber generates revenues from fee-based service like long distance calls to non-Viber users and from branded communication.
Recently the application has introduced a new redesign and we heard the company is working closely with payment provider Mastercard to pilot some new services.

That's been Silicon Valley conventional wisdom for at least a decade, but the new focus on data privacy in the wake of Facebook's Cambridge Analytica scandal has inspired the world to re-examine the maxim. It's pretty clear now that it's an oversimplification, and there's a strong case to be made that thinking this way is downright dangerous.
That doesn't mean we let services like Facebook off the hook, but we should be cognizant that there are other ways to monetize a free service outside of "profiling" users to optimize advertising.
One good example is Viber. Founded in 2010 as a mobile-first messaging service (then a novel idea), Viber now has about half a billion monthly active users worldwide. And it doesn't do advertising in the traditional way.
