PINWHEEL MASSIVE SULFIDE EXPANSION
These latest drill results have successfully extended the southwest trending Pinwheel massive sulfides 115 meters from the last set of Pinwheel holes released on January 8, 2008. Large copper-rich massive sulfide intercepts, such as 103 meters of 0.72% copper in LK-230PE, significantly expand previously defined Pinwheel mineralization. Along with expanding copper mineralization, intercepts such as that encountered in LK-231PE with 9 meters of 7.72% zinc and 3.2 meters of 6.75% zinc in LK-240PE should increase the overall zinc grade of the Pinwheel Zone. Five more drill holes testing further southwest extension of this zone have been completed and are expected later in February. A map showing the latest drill holes, zone expansions and general information about Aquila and the exciting Back Forty Project are available on the company's website at www.aquilaresources.com.
Continued drilling at the project is directed at defining mineralization for inclusion in a new NI 43-101 resource later in 2008, and is focusing on delineation of gold and silver mineralization not included in the last resource, as well as expansion of the existing sulfide zones.
Sample preparation and analyses for this release were conducted by Accurassay Labs in Thunder Bay, Ontario on split drill core supplied by Aquila. Standards were inserted in the sample sequences with check assays and re-run's routinely conducted. Tom Quigley, P.Geo. and President of Aquila is the Qualified Person as described in National Instrument 43-101 for the Back Forty Project and is responsible for the content of this press release.

90 GOLD ZONE EXPANSION
A total of 52 holes have now intersected the 90 Gold Zone at 10 to 25 meter spacing to define an envelope of mineralization partially overlapping the Tuff Zone massive sulfide and extending outward from it to the surface. "We are hopeful that this gold and silver mineralization can be included in the upcoming NI 43-101 resource estimate expected later this year," stated Tom Quigley, Aquila's president. "The continuity and grade of this precious metal zone is quite impressive, and these latest results highlight the widespread gold and silver mineralization associated with the Back Forty mineralized system."
PREPARATION FOR RESOURCE UPDATE
An additional seven holes are pending from the 90 Gold Zone, and approximately 16 holes are pending from the Pinwheel extension and South Limb massive sulfides, and a newly discovered near surface gold zone located between the 90 Gold Zone and the Pinwheel massive sulfide zone. Three drills continue to operate at the project focused on resource definition and expansion.
Metallurgical test work is also progressing, and a preliminary description of these results is expected in the near future. Ongoing test work includes both open circuit and locked cycle flotation tests on sulfide ores, leach and gravity tests on gold and silver ores, and characterization of concentrates and tailings.
A NI 43-101 preliminary assessment (scoping study) is planned following completion of the updated resource calculation.
A plan view map of the 90 Gold Zone drill holes is posted on the company's website at www.aquilaresources.com.
Sample preparation and analyses for this release were conducted by Accurassay Labs in Thunder Bay, Ontario on split drill core supplied by Aquila. Intercepts tabulated above include down dip extensions of South Limb mineralization, extensions of the South Limb towards the fold hinge (New South Limb), as well as westward, down plunge extensions of the Hinge area of the Main zone. Gold mineralization associated with the central porphyry - the PM Gold zone - was also encountered in LK-255. A map showing locations of the drill holes and extensions of the mineralized zones is available on the Company's website listed below.
Pending Drill Hole Results
The South Limb massive sulfide remains open down plunge and drilling is continuing to explore this direction with results from seven holes pending. An additional 16 holes are pending from expansion of the Pinwheel to the southwest and northeast, and five holes are pending from step outs of the Tuff Zone massive sulfide.
Results from an additional five holes remain to be reported from the 90 Gold Zone, and a series of five holes was also recently completed on the East Zone to fully define this important near surface gold rich gossan and massive sulfide.
Fourteen holes have also been drilled to follow up on near surface gold mineralization previously reported (Press Release January 29, 2008), which included 11.24 meters of 5.67 g/t gold, thought to be a potential new zone of precious metal mineral mineralization located between the Pinwheel massive sulfide and gossan and the 90 Gold Zone.

INDUSTRY: Manufacturing and Production - Mining and Metals
Carbon steel resources producer and developer Aquila Resources Ltd said it can deliver a 25 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) iron ore operation at its West Pilbara project.
Aquila's pre-feasibility study for the first stage of the project has examined port options, infrastructure at proposed mine areas and development of mine-to-port transport corridors.
The study confirms the technical and financial viability of 160 kilometres of new railway to a new open-access, deep-water port facility at Cape Preston, subject to commercial agreement with other parties with interests in the port, Aquila said.
About $US1.7 billion ($A1.79 billion) of the estimated capital expenditure will be incurred on the railway, ore wharf and channel.
The company said the project is capable of producing 30Mtpa in its first stage with a marginal increase in capital expenditure.
Construction of the first stage could commence in early 2010 with first shipments in 2012.
A definitive feasibility study is due to be completed in the second quarter of 2009.

Aquila Resources Inc.: Drilling at Back Forty Defines New Near Surface Gold Zone
Results include 16.5 meters of 6.6 grams/tonne gold
TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 2, 2008) - AQUILA RESOURCES INC. (TSX:AQA)(FRANKFURT:JM4A) ("Aquila" or the "Company") today announced more drill results from the Back Forty Project in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The results released today are from 15 drill holes targeting the PM Gold Zone, the 90 Gold Zone, and a newly discovered zone of near surface gold mineralization called the "NS Gold Zone".
The results reported are from a program of detailed exploration drilling aimed at defining gold and silver mineralization that occurs in rocks hosting the Back Forty massive sulfide lenses, with the goal of including these zones in the upcoming NI 43-101 resource estimate which is in progress and expected later this summer. Results from another 170 holes will be included in the updated resource estimate.
Although gold and silver occurs throughout the zinc and copper rich massive sulfides at the Back Forty Project, the precious metal zones reported below constitute distinct areas of gold and silver mineralization with low base metals.

The new NS Gold Zone has now been encountered in a total of 7 holes over a strike length of greater than 200 meters. It lies between the Pinwheel gossan and the 90 Gold Zone in sheared and altered rhyolites and may represent an extension of Porphyry margin gold mineralization to the surface, although further drilling will be required to confirm this.
"We are hoping the continuity of this new zone of gold and silver mineralization holds together and will constitute yet another style of precious metal mineralization to potentially add to the resource," stated Aquila's senior geologist Bob Mahin. "The proximity of this zone to the 90 Gold Zone and the Pinwheel gossan makes it a very attractive target from a mining perspective."
Several holes also encountered porphyry margin gold mineralization (PM Gold Zone) massive sulfides associated with the Main Zone (hinge) as well as several zones of semi massive sulfides of unknown affinity. A map showing the location of the holes in this press release as well as the principle mineralized zones is available on the Company's website at www.aquilaresources.com.
Other Project Activities
Preparations for a new resource estimate expected later this summer are progressing on schedule, and metallurgical test work on sulfide ores as well as gold and silver mineralization is nearing completion, as is a preliminary processing flowsheet for Back Forty ores. As the new resource takes shape, preliminary mine design, environmental baseline studies, and other engineering activities will be undertaken as a part of scoping/prefeasibility studies planned for later in 2008 and 2009.
"Our goal is to stay on track advancing the project towards permitting in late 2009 or 2010", stated Tom Quigley Aquila's president. "We are expanding our team of environmental and engineering professionals to assist the Aquila geological staff to work towards project feasibility, including permit applications."
Additional information about the Company's Back Forty Project is available on the Company's website at www.aquilaresources.com.

Hier noch der aktuelle Bericht von RsR:
Sehr geehrte Leser!

METALLURGICAL RESULTS FROM BACK FORTY PROJECT
AQUILA RESOURCES INC. (TSX:AQA – Frankfurt:JM4A) (“Aquila” or the “Company”) today
announced positive results from an extensive metallurgical testing program for all major mineralized
zones at its Back Forty project in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The results show the viability of
standard beneficiation processes and production of quality concentrates, as well as significant recovery of
precious metals. The evaluation work summarized below has been performed by G&T Metallurgical
Services of Kamloops BC and the Company’s metallurgical consultant Alfredo Vargas.
Results demonstrate that flotation testwork produces marketable concentrates of copper, zinc, and lead,
with associated gold and silver reporting to the copper and lead circuits. Precious metal ores with
negligible copper, lead and zinc show excellent gold, and variable silver recovery through a combination
of gravity and hydrometallurgical extraction.
Average metal recoveries and concentrate grades for different ore zones are shown below.
