GoldOz Company Update
FML – Focus Minerals Ltd
22nd June 2010
This is a follow up to the ASX – FML report of the 15th June 2010 on the new ground
position purchased at Lake Cowan, Treasure Island WA.
Introduction
I will keep this brief – what is this purchase all about? FML have purchased 75% of a
project covering 95 square km of land approximately 100km from their mill for 0.1% of
their share capital or about 3m shares. Why would FML make such a move? Obviously
the details of the agreement have not been made public yet and we eagerly await the
rest of the detail. In the meantime GoldOz takes a look here at this project from a
broader perspective.
Let me fill you in on some local knowledge and you can then judge if this was a good
move or not. Goldfields own 90% of the land (shown in the diagram next page) along
this 120 Km mineralized corridor which covers the Boulder-Lefroy Fault.
Metals are usually found in mineralized corridors and this is WA’s most prolific
containing 10M oz of Au and 4Mt of nickel. Mining property is all about location,
location and location. If you extend the corridor north of Kambalda through Kalgoorlie to
Bardoc (100km north) the figure is much larger at more like 100m oz Au.
The current value of this metal produced historically and not including known resources,
is worth $15.4T. This is enough to buy several small countries. Make no mistake this is
potentially a valuable 95 square kilometres of dirt. The fault includes St Ives, the Super
Pit, Intrepide Santa Anna and Junction amongst many others all the way down to
Norseman in the South.
Lake Cowan already hosts Swordfish, Cobbler (330kt @ 2.6gpt Au) and Harlequin
(450kt @ 12 gpt Au) – these deposits can be researched over the WWW at the reader’s
discretion.
Goldfields have spent 90% of their WA exploration budget over the past 10 years on this
trend. They have only explored as far down as the area just south of Junction even
though they have previously defined the geophysics right down to the bottom of Lake
Cowan at Norseman. Such is the rich endowment of this trend that they have not
needed to conduct further exploration away from their operations. In other words step
out drilling has provided additional ore requirements at little expense over the LOM.
The FML tenement includes approximately 10km of potential strike bang smack on the
Boulder-Lefroy Fault. Semro Pty Ltd claimed the lease in late 2007 after it had been
released by the administrators who held it for 10 years. WMC and Goldfileds had driven
over the ground for years and missed it.
Due to the rich nature of the samples taken to date we can see why FML are excited.
Should they define a viable (scale) high grade deposit it might be feasible to transport
this ore to the 3MH mill. We have to wait and see. A great deal of work needs to be
done to define a resource as there is no JORC compliant assessment to date. The facts
above speak volumes about the potential of this purchase.Clearing up some misconceptions
Of particular note is Intrepide Santa Anna because it is located on a salt lake just like the
new FML tenement on Lake Cowan. Fifteen years ago this would have prevented
exploration and been a major technical problem however things have changed.
Ausdrill operate a number of specialized rigs with balloon tyres which are light enough to
get in there and handle a diamond drilling program. Diamond drilling is therefore
feasible without the use of more expensive causeways which have caused some
problems in the past.
Another important thing to note is that, thanks to the developments over the past decade
FML would see no particular technical problems to develop this as a mine.
To find outcropping samples at 40% copper and +1oz of gold per tonne anywhere is a
rarity. Given the credentials of this trend and exploration done to date on this tenement
we consider the probability of finding an economic deposit is very high, indeed
exceptionally high on this world class greenfields exploration project.
The market got it wrong marking down the FML share price on the 15th June on release
of the announcement and this is not unusual at all. Either that or a group of investors is
playing this for a take over in the near future – again we have to wait and see. This may
have something to do with new interest by Hartleys and some major investors getting
set.
As the correct story gets out about Treasure Island and investors see that this is no
useless water logged insignificant piece of ground (as the share price move may have
appeared to indicate) the share price should start to recover.
I saw a comment today, on the 3M shares issued for the property and it was negative –
something to do with dilution. This could not be further from the true state of this
situation as a 0.1% dilution is highly insignificant compared to what this could mean for
the company. We have made our position clear on the potential of the Three Mile Hill
mill and the Coolgardie tenements in previous reports.
Fresh broker interest
Hartley’s are a very conservative broking house and have just put a value of 9.2c a
share on FML. The fact that they have decided to cover FML means that FML are
growing up into a respectable mining company.
Pattersons have just re-rated FML as a buy from their previous hold recommendation.
They have changed their previous valuation from 6c to 8c a share. Investors should
note that it is the brokers that influence the larger number of investors towards particular
stocks thereby providing the liquidity which can drive a share price higher over time.
Conclusion
This is an exciting development in the evolution of FML into a mid tier mining house.
FML is a highly undervalued company by several valuation metrics. I refer to P: E and
asset backing.

Schlusskurs 0.39€
Deutschland 3:1 (Müller, Müller, Schweinsteiger)
schau'mer mal.
