Boulder, April 9, 2012 - NeoMedia Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB: NEOM.OB), the pioneer in global mobile barcode management solutions, today filed a patent litigation lawsuit against SpyderLynk, LLC.
The SpyderLynk lawsuit, filed in the District Court for the District of Colorado, asserts infringement of two NeoMedia patents related to its mobile barcode resolution technology. Specifically, the complaints assert infringement of the following patents: U.S. Patent Nos. 6,199,048 and 8,131,597.
The lawsuit seeks to enjoin SpyderLynk from using NeoMedia’s patented technology and to recover damages caused by the infringement.
“NeoMedia’s patent portfolio covers a broad spectrum of barcode resolution techniques and NeoMedia has, over the years, successfully negotiated multiple license agreements with some of the top players in the mobile barcode market,” said David Berten, a Partner with Global IP Law Group, LLC, NeoMedia’s legal counsel.
"Protecting our products and services and defending our patent portfolio represent key responsibilities and commitments to our Company and all of its stakeholders." said Laura Marriott, Chief Executive Officer of NeoMedia Technologies, Inc. "We have invested an extraordinary amount of resources in this area of our business and we will fight hard to defend our portfolio."
