THE management of Panguna Metals have explained their side of the story, after their equipments worth around 3 million kina were torched by a frustrated mob. Two excavators, a hundred tonne crane truck and a Mack truck (Semi-trailer) were burnt in what the management calls a criminal act and the Law will be involved in this case now.

“We are a well organised Company. There was an internal matter and we (PML), were given 4 days to sort it out. We were about to sort out the matter when they burnt the equipment on the very first day, when things are in process.” Mr. Clayson said. permits to operate at Panguna for a further 21 years from 2011. There are also encouraging
indications that funding for Bougainville and the drawing down of powers to the ABG including the power to license and regulate mining will be invigorated under his government."
Geht Peter Taylor bei seiner Aussage "the drawing down of powers to the ABG including the power to license and regulate mining will be invigorated under his government." von einer Wiederwahl O`Neils bei den Präsidentschaftswahlen aus oder erwartet er noch Fortschritte vor den Wahlen?
