BP today provided an update on developments in the response to the MC252 oil well incident in the Gulf of Mexico.

Subsea Source Control and Containment
Two systems continue to collect oil and gas flowing from the Deepwater Horizon's failed blow-out preventer (BOP) and transport them to vessels on the surface.

The lower marine riser package (LMRP) containment cap, installed on June 3, takes oil and gas to the Discoverer Enterprise where oil is collected and gas flared. The second system, which began operations on June 16, takes oil and gas to the Q4000 vessel on the surface where both oil and gas are flared.

Oil and gas collection through the LMRP cap containment system was suspended for approximately 10 hours on June 23 following an unexpected release of seawater from the Discoverer Enterprise. Capture of oil and gas through the system connected to the Q4000 continued throughout the day.

On June 23, a total of approximately 16,830 barrels of oil were collected or flared by the two systems and 36.7 million cubic feet of gas were flared. Specifically, the LMRP containment system connected to the Discoverer Enterprise collected 8,300 barrels of oil, and the Q4000 flared an additional 8,530 barrels of oil. To date, the total volume of oil recovered or flared by the containment systems is approximately 364,500 barrels.

Information on the volumes of oil and gas that are captured or flared is updated twice daily on BP's website, www.bp.com. The LMRP containment cap and Q4000 systems never before have been deployed at these depths and conditions, and their efficiency and ability to contain or flare the oil and gas cannot be assured.

Preparations continue for the next step in containment operations. Preparation of the first floating riser containment system that will be connected to the Helix Producer vessel remains on schedule. It is currently anticipated that this system will be available to begin first operations at the end of June or in early July. Plans also are being developed for additional containment capacity and flexibility. These projects are currently anticipated to begin operations around mid-July.

Work on the first relief well, which started May 2, continues. The well reached a depth of 16,275 feet on June 23 before the drillstring was removed from the well to carry out the first 'ranging' run using wireline. During the ranging run, the MC252 well was successfully detected. Subsequent ranging runs will be needed to more precisely locate the well. Drilling and ranging operations will continue over the next few weeks towards the target intercept depth of approximately 18,000 feet, when 'kill' operations are expected to begin. The second relief well, which started May 16, is drilling ahead at a measured depth of 10,500 feet. Both wells are still estimated to take approximately three months to complete from commencement of drilling.

Surface Spill Response and Containment

Work continues to collect and disperse oil that has reached the surface of the sea, to protect the shoreline of the Gulf of Mexico, and to collect and clean up any oil that has reached shore.

Approximately 37,000 personnel, more than 4,500 vessels and some 100 aircraft are now engaged in the response effort.

Operations to skim oil from the surface of the water now have recovered, in total, approximately 610,000 barrels (25.6 million gallons) of oily liquid. In addition, a total of 275 controlled burns have been carried out to date, removing an estimated 239,000 barrels of oil from the sea's surface.

The total length of containment boom deployed as part of efforts to prevent oil from reaching the coast is now almost 2.8 million feet (530 miles), and about 4.2 million feet (800 miles) of sorbent boom also has been deployed.

Additional information

To date, almost 74,000 claims have been filed and more than 39,000 payments have been made, totalling almost $126 million.

The cost of the response to date amounts to approximately $2.35 billion, including the cost of the spill response, containment, relief well drilling, grants to the Gulf states, claims paid, and federal costs. On June 16, BP announced an agreed package of measures, including the creation of a $20 billion fund to satisfy certain obligations arising from the oil and gas spill. It is too early to quantify other potential costs and liabilities associated with the incident.

Aktuell 3,90€ Ob der schlaue Professor Otte immer noch so ruhig schläft?

 

Mal schauen, was Du am Ende dieses Tages schreibst, wenn wir deutlich ueber 4 Euro stehen!

Langsam ist die aktuelle Bewertung von BP laecherlich. Auch wenn die entgueltige Schadensumme noch nicht bekannt ist, werden sich hier Investoren langsam in die Aktie schleichen. Hier stehen im Vergleich zu beispielsweise Solarfirmen tatsaechliche Sachwerte dahinter und nicht nur "auf Pump" produzierte Ware. Wir werden sehen, aber ich bin halt der Meinung bei spaetebstens 3,50 Euro ist Schluss, dann geht es wieder Richtung 5-6 Euro.

Alles meine Meinung...  

Na ja, bis jetzt ist leider alles drin. War auch schon bei 4,15 eingestiegen, und bin wieder raus. Im Moment sind mir da einfach zu viele Unsicherheiten, die mögliche Schadenssumme schwankt zwischen 20 und mehr als 100 Milliarden US$, da läßt sich überhaupt nichts einschätzen. M.M. nach geht es noch deutlich nach süden.

Übrigens, als Anfänger würde ich die Finger von BP in jeder  Form lassen.

bei unternehmen dessen aktien sich eindeutig in einer talfahrt befinden...

es kommen beiträge von leuten wie : diese bewertung ist lächerlich, oder aber
tiefer gehts nicht...

aber die vergangenheit zeigt doch, dass in so einem abwärtsstrudel keiner weiß
wo der boden ist.

es gibt doch nicht umsonst die alte börsenweisheit: NICHT INS FALLENDE MESSER GREIFEN!

Was machen die leute, sie kaufen frühzeitig, weil sie tatsächlich angst haben, sie würden den aufstieg verpassen?!

Wobei niemand sagen kann wie hoch das ALLES kosten wird.

Ich bin seit kurzem in diese aktie short gegangen und das ist auh gut so!  

Selten so einfach und mit so geringem Kapitaleinsatz Geld gemacht..Leider ist das Zerti heute ausgelaufen, aber das ganze hier ist noch nicht vorbei... hat jemand noch ein guten short auf Lager?

Hätte mal noch eine frage: Ich hab mal gehört, dass Pensionsfonds usw. ganz bestimmte Richtlinien haben, wonach sie Aktien nur von Unternehmen besitzen dürfen, die z.B. kein Pennystock sind oder über eine ganz bestimmte Marktkap. verfügen?

@ killakat: ich habe 850517, vorteil notiert in pfund- d.h. auch eine absicherung gegen euro (depot ist meist zu eurolastig). habe ich auch, und bei diesen kursen werden es fast täglich mehr ;-) 

prinzipiell bekommst du bei beiden scheinen eine divi., aber bei bp erst wieder 2011 (frühestens). 

 

 

die Leute, die den Kurs ewig weiter fallen sehen und deswegen den Einstieg insgesamt verpassen.
Und mit Kalendersprüchen wie "nicht ins fallende Messer greifen" kann man an der Börse nix anfangen.

Kauf am besten gar nichts von BP, deiner Frage nach zu Urteilen, bist du nämlich noch ein ziemlicher Neuling im Börsenalltag und solltest dann vielleicht nicht mit solch einem Zockerpapier anfangen. Schau dir Munich Re oder Allianz an, da kann man auch sein Geld machen, mit viel weniger Risiko.  

vll ziehe ich dann noch einen os. kursziel 3€, tendenz eher 2,70€.

Wieso ist dies ein Zocker-Papier?
Ich persönlich sehe es auch als langfristige Chance, und nicht nur was für ein paar Tage.
Ich lege sie mir Stück für Stück ins Depot, kaufe jede 20% Abschlag nach und wenn es anfängt zu steigen, lasse ich es liegen.
Ich rede hier von einem Zeithorizont von 5-8 Jahren.
Warum nicht?

Und zu killakats Frage: Wieso kann er/sie nicht einfach eine Antwort auf seine Frage bekommen und nicht, ob er investieren soll oder nicht?

es ist schon schwach, dass hier leute davon reden, dass sie die Papiere immer noch kaufen, nur um ein paar Euros zu machen. Klar , der Vergleich das "andere das auch machen, " ist aber keine Entschuldigung : Wie hieß es früher : Wenn alle springen, springst du dann auch ?

 

Diese  Leute sollten mal 2 Tage live dabei sein, 

wenn ein Tier langsam und Qualvoll verendet,  unterstüzt von dem Konzern,an dem sie Anteilseigner sind !

Man kann auch ein Tier oder Meeresleben nicht mit Geld beziffern, oder "Schaden errechnen " - es ist einfach nicht gut und jeder, wird es auch zugeben, dass er nicht mit dem besten Gewissen diese Aktie kauft - also lasst es !

 

BP wird massiv geshortet, die Kursausschläge in alle Richtungen sind fast jeden Tag >3%, hier sind eindeutig sehr viele Spekulanten(Zocker) unterwegs...Deshalb ist es für mich aktuell ein Zockerpapier...

UPDATE 2-U.S. reviews BP's ALASKA project plans

"WASHINGTON / ANCHORAGE, Alaska, June 24 [2010] (Reuters) - The U.S. government is reviewing BP Plc's ALASKA drilling plans after a report that the company's project did not receive proper environmental oversight, a senior official said on Thursday.

'We are looking into the issue right now,' U.S. Interior Secretary Ken SALAZAR told a Senate Energy and Natural Resources committee hearing when asked about the reports about BP's LIBERTY project, located on a man-made island in the BEAUFORT Sea about 15 miles east of PRUDHOE Bay.

BP's U.S.-listed shares fell 3 percent to close at $28.74 after SALAZAR's comments, as investors worried about BP's future and estimates grew of total liabilities from the company's massive two-month-old GULF spill.

'Think about it. How many holes can you have in a bucket? There are just too many problems,' said Joe SALUZZI, co-manager of trading at THEMIS Trading in CHATHAM, New Jersey.

The LIBERTY development, which was approved by regulators two years ago, is slated to tap an estimated 100 million barrels of recoverable oil, according to BP's website, making it a mid- to small-sized field by global standards.

'In light of the BP oil spill in the GULF and new SAFETY requirements, we will be reviewing the adequacy of the current version of the LIBERTY project's spill plan,' Interior spokeswoman Kendra BARKOFF said in a statement after the hearing"...

hab ich wieder mal nen Riecher gehabt.  

So Leute wie Dich braucht man beim Shorteindecken, wenn der Kurs dann ploetzlich wieder dreht....  

Es gibt viele von euch, die sagen es ist moralisch nicht korrekt BP Aktien zu kaufen. Mag sein, aber habt ihr mal daran gedacht, dass es moralisch noch viel schlimmer ist, diese Aktie zu shorten?
Indem ihr das macht, hofft ihr doch darauf das der BP Kurs weiter fällt. Was im Umkehrschluss bedeutet, ihr hofft darauf, dass die Ölpest noch viel schlimmer wird, als sie eh schon ist.....
