It is based on Welle's Play "Five Kings", an Adaption of four Shakespeare Plays which he produced in 1939 and again in 1960.
The film's Narration, spoken by Richard Richardson, is taken from the chronichler Raphael Holinshed.
Orson Welles Plays Sir John Falstaff alongside an incredible cast: Jeanne Moreau, Margaret Rutherford, Keith Baxter, John Gielgud, Marina Vlady and Fernando Rey.
Welles is uncompromising as the tragicomic Shakespearean character and many critics believe this is the greatest Screen portrayal of Falstaff.
This lost masterpiece has never before been released on DVD and contributes much to the appreciation of the great Screen legend that is Orson Welles....

English afro-folk-pop ensemble The Melodic's debut album Effra Parade is available now via Anti-. It is the follow up to the band's acclaimed EP On My Way. English newspaper The Observer described The Melodic as "Incredibly beautiful, with harmonies and rich instrumentation that make you want to dance and cry at the same time," while in the US the band has drawn comparisons to indie darlings Beirut and The Decemberists.
The Melodic are a quietly radical band. This is the first young English group to lionize Chilean neo-folk rebel Victor Jara since Sandinista-era Clash. Their new album Effra Parade was self-recorded in a sound-proofed bedroom in South London over several years with a baroque line-up of 18 instruments. All the more impressive when you consider they are still in their early twenties.

September 1973 verhaftet und am 16. September 1973 mit mindestens 44 Schüssen von Soldaten des am 11. September 1973 putschenden Militärs ermordet.
