Das habe ich aus einem anderen Thread in dem es um GM und Ford geht.
Wird bei Lehman eigentlich noch gearbeitet. Da waren doch auch zig tausende Menschen beschäftigt. man hört ja garnichts?
In den USA jedoch, liegen die Dinge bei einer Unternehmens-
Insolvenz etwas anders als bei uns:
Das amerikanische Gesetz sieht unter "Chapter 11" vor, dass
zahlungsunfähige Unternehmen die Geschäfte weiterlaufen lassen und
sogar gewissen Rechte in Anspruch nehmen können. Die Arbeiter
blieben beschäftigt. Die Unternehmen würden Übergangskredite
erhalten und könnten teure Arbeitsverträge neu verhandeln.

Die Fondsverwaltung Neuberger Berman ist von Bain Capital und Hellmann & Friedman gekauft worden (siehe http://www.lehman.com/press/pdf_2008/...erger_berman_acquisition.pdf)
Da Lehman im wesentlichen eine Investmentbank & Vermögensverwaltung war, ist damit ausser der Abwicklung der Bank nichts mehr da (und sicherlich kein operatives Geschaeft..)
Sieht man auch sehr gut under www.lehman.com, da gibts nur noch Links zu Barclays, Nomura, Bain etc und zu der Abwicklungsseite http://www.lehmanbrothersestate.com/

Our system posted a HOLD today. The previous BUY recommendation was issued on 11.25.2008 (6) days ago, when the stock price was 0.0440. Since then LEHMQ has gained 2.27% .
The previous SELL-IF signal is now null and void. We allowed two days for the confirmation of the bearish pattern and market denied confirmation. None of the three bearish confirmation conditions were realized.
Continue to hold the stock and wait for a new signal.
Do not bother yourself with further buying or selling as long as the HOLD tag stays. Keep away from short selling as well.

Three to bid for Lehman's Neuberger auction-lawyer
NEW YORK, Dec 3 (Reuters) - Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc (News) has received three bids for its investment management unit, including Neuberger Berman, Shai Waisman, a bankruptcy lawyer for the company, said on Wednesday.
The auction for Lehman's prized asset management unit begins at noon on Wednesday, Waisman said.
In comments to reporters after a court hearing, Waisman said there were two bidders in addition to Bain Capital LLC and Hellman&Friedman LLC, which agreed on Sept. 29 to buy the unit for $2.15 billion. The Bain and Hellman group was previously approved by the court to be the lead bidder at the auction.

Portfolio Managers, Management Team and Senior Professionals Will Control Newly
Independent Asset Management Business
Includes Neuberger Berman, Fixed Income and Alternative Asset Management

NEW YORK, December 3, 2008 — A group consisting of portfolio managers, the management team and senior professionals (“Management”) today agreed to acquire a majority interest in Neuberger Berman and the fixed income and alternative asset management businesses of Lehman Brothers’ Investment Management Division.
As part of the transaction, a new, independent investment management company to be called Neuberger Investment Management will be created comprising businesses that managed approximately $160 billion of assets as of November 30, 2008. Management will control 51% of the new company with Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. retaining a 49% stake. Final Bankruptcy Court approval is scheduled for later this month and closing is expected in the first quarter of 2009.
The Management bid was selected as the winner in a Bankruptcy Court auction held today, topping a previous bid from the private equity firms of Bain Capital and Hellman & Friedman that was announced in September and was used to start the auction process. The Management bid was selected as the highest offer because it offered greater value and certainty of closing, said Jim Fogarty, a managing director with Alvarez & Marsal and chief operating officer of Lehman Brothers Holdings. The professional services firm of Alvarez & Marsal has been overseeing Lehman Brothers Holdings and working to maximize value for creditors.

The Management acquisition includes the businesses of Neuberger Berman (primarily equities products and services, mutual funds, and a strong emphasis on high net worth and institutional clients), Lehman Brothers Asset Management (fixed income, commodities, and quantitative portfolio management), and Lehman Brothers’ private funds investment group, which includes the fund-of-funds businesses (both hedge fund and private equity), secondary private equity, and co-investment. Several startup private equity businesses, including infrastructure and mezzanine debt, are also included. George Walker, global head of investment management for Lehman Brothers, will be chief executive of Neuberger Investment Management, and Joe Amato will continue to lead Neuberger Berman, its largest operating unit.

Das Kind ist "noch nicht" durch...das wäre ein bischen zu schnell-obwohl der Kurs was anderes sagt. Hier wird, meiner Meinung nach, sehr tief und sehr lang Luft geholt für den bevorstehenden LETZTEN SPRUNG. Es giebt noch einige Fristen die Lehman einhalten MUß!!(betreffend Chapter11) auf diesen Nievau kannst du dir das Bashen sparen Wilhelm.ENDE(meinerseits)

Einen "LETZTEN SPRUNG" kann es hier m.E. nicht geben.....
1. Es sollte bei den Verantwortlichen bekannt sein, dass hier viele Zocker drin sind, die den schnellen Gewinn bzw. Ausstieg suchen....dem will man entgegen wirken...
2. Die verbliebenen assets sollen das Fundament einer möglichen neuen Gesellschaft bilden...von daher bleibe ich dabei, LEHMAN wird auferstehen, nur eben nicht mit den common shares.
3. Die Thematik "Erwerb 14. Oktober" spricht Bände...warum wohl steuert das Management so viele Anteile...auch hier sehe ich nur den Zweck, den Zockern das Spielfeld zu entziehen...
Dein "LETZTER SPRUNG" würde demnach einen Widerspruch beinhalten....schneller Gewinn für die Zocker vs. nachhaltige Erholung des Kurses......für mich bleibt hier nur der Gesamtverlust vom heutigen Niveau als einzige konsequente Lösung.

==> LEHMAN wird stärker als je zuvor aus der Finanzmarktkrise hervorgehen +++ unter CHAPTER 11 werden in aller Ruhe die Weichen für eine erfolgreiche Zukunft gestellt +++ Bedingung war lediglich, daß der alte CHEF weichen musste +++ die AKTIEN werden in 2 Jahren wieder über US-$ 10 stehen......
Anmerkung der Redaktion: Wenn Du Dich "überhaupt nicht auskennst" solltest Du Deine Fingerchen von CH-11 Werten lassen.

zu Chapter 11: als ich die 4.000 St. kaufte, war Lehman noch nicht unter Chapter 11

wenn ich das richtig verstanden habe müssen die Aktionäre nicht zwangsläufig wechseln. Es besteht jedoch die Möglichkeit das die Gläubiger quasi als Ausgleich der Verbindlichkiten die Aktien erhalten.
Also muß nicht sondern kann. Auch wenns nur ein kleiner Strohhal ist es ist einer!
Oder liege ich da falsch???

"Ich habe einen Bekannten der bei Lehman in England arbeitet. Er meint, dass der Laden auf jeden Fall weiterlaufen wird! Die Umstrukturierung ist in vollem Gange und die Ergebnisse werden Mitte 01/2009 präsentiert. In meinen Augen ist jede Nachricht ausser dem endgültigen Aus ein Erfolg! "
Ich habe auch Bekannte, und die flüstern mir, daß LEHMAN auf jeden Fall weiter bestehen bleibt.....habe nie etwas anderes hier behauptet....
Hol schon mal den Wagen Harry, denn eines hast Du vergessen......welcher BEKANNTE gibt eine Garantie für den Fortbestand der "common shares" ?
