ROSH PINA, Israel, Aug. 30, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On Track Innovations Ltd. ("OTI") (OTIV), a global leader in contactless technology that designs, develops and markets secure identification, payment and transaction processing technologies and solutions for use in secure ID, NFC, payment, petroleum and loyalty applications based on its extensive patent and IP portfolio, today announced its results for the three and six month periods ended June 30, 2012.
Financial Highlights for the Six Months Period Ended June 30, 2012:
•Total revenues decreased by 24% to $20.3 million from $26.7 million for the first half of 2011
•Gross margin was 50%, the same as the first half of 2011
•Operating expenses decreased by 2% to $15.2 million from $15.5 million for the first half of 2011
•Net loss attributable to shareholders was $5.7 million, from $2.3 million last year
•Adjusted EBITDA loss of $3.6 million from a profit of $43,000 for the first half of 2011
•Net cash provided by continuing operating activities was $46,000 compared to net cash used by continuing operating activities of $4.0 million in the first half of 2011
•Cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments of $22.1 million as of June 30, 2012
Operational Highlights:
•OTI's IP Portfolio further strengthened by the addition of new U.S. patents issued pertaining to Contactless Payments and NFC related to:
-- Adding contactless payment and NFC capabilities to existing mobile handsets via the connection of a device to a phone's existing SIM card
-- Supporting multiple applications and/or payment mechanisms on a single contactless device and operating system
•Order received for 17,000 NFC and Contactless Payment Readers:
-- To be deployed in Europe. Follows order of 30,000 readers in Q1
•EasyPark Launches 'EasyPark Private' in Israel:
-- Expected to broaden the EasyPark customer base and create a new source of recurring revenue
•OTI and Wright Express sign a strategic cooperation agreement:
-- Five year agreement with Wright Express appoints OTI as the exclusive reseller in South Africa of Wright Express' Quantum+ solution
Oded Bashan, Chairman and CEO of OTI, commented: "We are disappointed with the results for the first half of the year. We have made progress implementing our long-term growth strategy in the U.S., Europe and Africa. This progress has been impacted in the short-term by factors outside of management's control, however, the negative impact of these events is expected to be partially offset by our insurance coverage for the business. Overall, we believe the company is moving in the right direction to deliver on our business objectives and successfully build market share for each of our technologies as well as enforce the patents for our NFC technology."
Mr. Bashan continued: "We are overcoming specific challenges to our business associated with the flooding in Thailand now that the manufacturing has been back to full capacity for the past few months. We have filed claims for $11 million in connection with the outcomes of the flooding which may offset lost sales. If these claims are paid, the long-term impact of these events will be minimalized from a cash flows standpoint."
The order for 17,000 NFC readers in July follows our previous order for 30,000 readers received in the prior quarter. As a result, 47,000 of OTI's readers will be deployed across the U.S. and European markets by this time next year. OTI provides first-rate products that support the increasing adoption of NFC technology across the world."

Frühjahr 2013 geklärt sein.Die Qz Zahlen waren wieder mal sehr mau.
Die verhandeln aber auch um 3 Sitze in Chefboard.Von 9 Sitzen wären 3 noch nicht besetzt.Wenn da ein Fond seine Leute unterbringen könnte..?
wäre das sehr gut ..aber zumindestens besser als die eigne Familie
Das könnte dann ein Schwenk zu einem besseren Managment einladen.

hat oti eigentlich das Rückkaufprogramm schon gestartet ?
wenn nicht wird es jetzt höchste Zeit.
Für jene welche deren Aktien bisjetzt gehalten haben ist es einfach zu frustrierend das mit anzusehen.
Gehöre leider auch dazu.
wenn bis zu den nächsten Quartalszahlen keine wirklich guten Neuigkeiten von Oti verbreitet werden sehe ich allmählich wirklich ...........

der große Ausverkauf und Wir landen als Pennystock ?
Wieso kann der CEO nicht ein paar News über den Verlauf mit T-Mobile rauslassen.
Trotz Nachkauf in den letzten 11 Jahren habe ich derzeit immer noch einen Verlust von über 60 %,
und da ist schon was zusammengekommen.
Meine Befürchtung ist das da Manipulationen und Deals abgehen, vielleicht wird eine Sparte abgestoßen bzw. übernommen - bei denen die Größaktionäre fein rauskommen und Wir Kleinaktionäre letztendlich die Dummen sein werden.
Besonderst stört mich das Angesagte Projekte nie zur Ausführung, aber so dargestellt wurde als wäre es schon ein Auftrag. Welche dann aber letztendlich entweder gar nicht zur Ausführung kommen, oder die Konkurrenz dannn ausführt.
Wie weit sind die Projekte in Polen die ja dann die Tür ins restliche Europa sein soll.
Inwieweit ist OTI noch in Kooperation mit Mastercard ?
Werden da überhaupt Umsätze generiert ?
Fragen die ich mir schon viel früher hätte stellen sollen.
Wohin geht die Reise ?
Das Management ist eine Katastrophe. meines erachtens geht es nur um den bereich nfc. das ist das feld der zukunft. das park-system und die anderen geschäftgsfelder interessieren niemanden.
Aber es müssen im Bereich nfc aufträge folgen.
die aktie ist total unterbewertet.allein der cash-flow und die patente müssten ein vielfaches des aktuellen kurses ausmachen. das management ist allerdings unfähig. Ich hätte nichts gegen eine übernahme und soimit einen kursanstieg. ob wir in den prognostizierten bereich von hr.schwatz kommen (ein viefvaches) wage ich mittlerweie zu bezweifeln. allerdings hätte ich auch nicht gegen einen kurs von 8$.

Sonst würde ja wohl der Vorstand stark nachkaufen(Aktien)
Der Kurs ist aber heute wierder einmal stark gefallen..
Es fehlen einfach Aufträge die Geld bringen und zwar dauerhaft.
Die anderen Firmen im NFC Bereich verdienen schon richtig gut und haben sich positioniert.
Hoffentlich kommt jetzt bald mal ein Wendepunkt ...
Oti kommt mir wie eine Torte vor.Jedes Jahr wird ein Stück von der Torte abgeschnittem bzw Die Aktie wird weniger Wert.

Ich denke, die in diesem Forum Investierten haben sicher auch zusammen ein ganz nettes Päckchen gesammelt das auch was zu sagen hat.
Diese zusammengenommen gehen evtl. in die Riege von Prozenten, was ja nicht unbedeutend wäre .
Was meint Ihr ?

These lines of NFC and contactless payment readers support the increasing adoption of NFC payment technology by retail stores, vending machines and other points of purchase. OTI's NFC and contactless payment readers are certified by major credit card associations -- including MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover -- for their contactless programs.

In wie weit sich mit diesem in neuen Clanmitgliedern eine Verbesserung des Marketings erzielen lassen soll ist mir ein Rätsel, sollten diese tatsächlich in den Vorstand einziehen.
Einen Rentner aus Armeekreisen und einer Techniker von IBM , mal einfach ausgedrückt.
Vielleicht ist es das was Oti fehlt,
vielleicht wären aber auch mal ein paar Ausländer mit den entsprechenden Qualifikationen angesagt.
Headaches for OTI founder
Boardroom battles are routine in the US, but a fascinating struggle is currently taking place at an Israeli company I hold here, OTI - On Track Innovations Ltd. (Nasdaq: OTIV; DAX: OT5). Owners of Israeli companies generally aspire to high levels of holdings by US institutions, but OTI founder and CEO Oded Bashan has a big headache these day precisely from the US institutions that hold more than a quarter of the company, compared with less than 10% held by the Bashan family.
The Americans are fed up with the heavy losses on their holdings, which they see as resulting from incompetent management of the company, and they are demanding deeds, not words. Two of the US institutions have reported on a form 13D that they intend to influence the management and control of the company, and one of them, Jerry Ivy, with a holding of nearly 10%, started an open war last week on the makeup of the company's next board, which in the long run may lead to new management, or even the sale of the company.
In a special report, Ivy writes that after six years as a shareholder he has reached the conclusion that OTI's current board is unable or unwilling to carry out the changes that will lead to the potential being realized, and so he has decided to act. OTI's shareholders meeting will take place on November 9, and shareholders will be asked to approve the appointments of three external directors recommended by Bashan: consultant Dr. Ora Setter, former IBM Israel general manager Meir Nissensohn, and Gen. (res.) Yossi Peled.
Ivy is unimpressed by this threesome, who are undoubtedly very worthy people, and he will recommend in their stead three Americans, each of whom he regards as an excellent professional, capable of getting OTI on the right track.
If I read the holdings and the determination of the institutions correctly, Bashan stands no chance of passing the appointment of the Israelis he wants, unless before the vote a compromise formula is reached with the American investors on the management of the company.
