INVESTMENT THESIS
1.Local is a leading player in the high value, high growth Local Search market.
2.The market is undervaluing Local's shares relative to competitors even on extremely conservative valuation measures.
3.The Company's recent management transition will be a catalyst to eliminate the undervaluation of the Company's shares.
4.Local Corp. continues to execute with cost reductions, new product initiatives to drive growth and strong performance in its high margin network product.
5.Finally, Wall Street is taking notice with three Wall Street institutions taking a collective position over 20% the stock.

Yahoo will never buy Yelp, which has near no INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY and is extreme overvalued.

"Local Corp. has strong technology and IP portfolio with a proprietary platform and expertise. Local Corp. has 12 patents and 7 patents pending. Local's patent's include web indexing (for indexing local web sites across the web), pay-per-call for local and commercial searches via a mobile device (multiple patents), dynamic cascading menu search (for product search on tablets and smartphones), bulk domain registration and content management (for very large-scale SEO). Local is attempting to monetize its IP. Local received a favorable Markman ruling against Fry Electronics. Another Seeking Alpha contributor wrote a good article on the potential for monetization.

"The company's efforts to increase sales from its high-margin Network
business could help to generate substantial cash flow in the years ahead.
Local has revved up its sales initiatives within its high-margin Network Publishing
business. This business helps merchants and community websites monetize
consumer traffic through genre-specific advertisements carefully targeted to
consumer interests and local communities. As more revenue accrues from this
business, the company's margin mix should improve leading to more consistent
profits and cash flow."

Merchant: Ace Hardware
Location: Worldwide
Size: 4,700 locations
Bottom Line: Adding location-based technology to a mobile app encourages online shoppers to make purchases in-store.

The trend toward consumers making purchases on the web isn’t slowing down — with 70% of those surveyed in 2013 reporting that they prefer shopping online — however national hardware chain Ace Hardware is doing its part to bring online shoppers back in-store. The company has recently debuted a new mobile iPhone application, meant to enhance the shopping experience and encourage customers to complete their transaction at local Ace Hardware locations.

“It allows the consumer to find more information about what they’re standing in front of, the product they’re looking at,” says Mark Lowe, Ace’s e-commerce marketing, and digital department manager. “

E-Commerce Style Big Data Analytics Meet Brick And Mortar Retailers

Online stores have been testing their sites for years, playing with the design, figuring out where items should be positioned to catch the eyes of shoppers, figuring out how to position first, second and third offers or suggest followup purchases.

Brick and mortar stores have not only been stuck without those types of analytics, they have also suffered the ignominy of serving as real-world catalog showrooms for the e-commerce companies — buyers will visit stores like Best Buy and often, in the store of all the nerve, check inventory against pricing from Amazon.

Now the physical stores have tools to collect data on their shoppers by monitoring their movement, and their pauses, as they move around the aisles of real stores. Less
