Marktkapitalisierung: 25 Mio. Euro / Handel in Kanada heute bisher: 2,5 Mio Aktien im Wert von umgerechnet ca. 1,5 Mio Euro.

NEWS - Noront Resources Ltd.: Windfall Lake Drilli
Posted by: AGORACOM on September 26, 2007 04:34PM
TORONTO, ONTARIO - (Sept. 26, 2007) - Noront Resources Ltd. ("Noront") (TSX VENTURE: NOT) is pleased to provide the following update of activity, including significant assay results of recent diamond drilling completed on the Company's Windfall Lake Project, situated in Urban Township, Quebec.
Noront reports that two surface diamond drills have been utilized on the Company's 100% owned Windfall Lake property and on the contiguous property optioned from Murgor Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:MUG) and Freewest Resources Canada Inc. (TSX VENTURE:FWR) since May 2007. Forty-nine diamond drill holes, including three lost in overburden, have been completed on the combined properties, for a total of 9,870 m. Drilling is continuing and some surface trenching is contemplated before year-end.
Permitting for the underground exploration ramp is underway in anticipation that surface work can be completed before freeze-up.
As expected in the drill plan the seven diamond drill holes, completed to assist in the design of the proposed underground exploration ramp, did not yield economic tenors of gold.
Five holes were completed to vertical depths of 700 to 820 m below surface over a 930 m strike length lying to the west of the discovery showing. Significant results from the first three are shown in the following table. Analytical results of the two remaining holes are pending. In addition a further three holes were lost in overburden. These holes were designed to test the apparent down plunge extension of the mineralized zones cut in hole NOT-04-27 and lying to the west of the surface showings.
Click here to view table
The remaining thirty-four holes were designed to verify the limits of the mineralized area, assess structure and to define the attitude, correlation and character of mineralized structures particularly near NOT-06-100. Holes NOT-07-130, 143 and 145 reported significant intersections that lie within -100 m of the high grade interval previously reported in NOT-06-100. (See press release dated December 1, 2006). Additional work, including diamond drilling, is required to determine whether these intersections represent persistent mineralized structures. Holes drilled near NOT-06-100 were designed to provide detailed geological information to guide the underground bulk-sampling program.
Click here to view table
True widths of these intersections are not known at this time.
Assay samples are taken from (NQ) drill core sawed in half with one half, packaged and delivered to the Bourlamaque Assay Laboratory located in Val D'Or, Quebec for analysis. The remaining half core is stored in a secure location for future reference or further testing. The initial gold assay method comprises a 30-gram fire assay charge with an atomic-absorption finish. The upper detection limit of this method is 10 ppm. Samples reporting greater than 2 g/t gold are reassayed in duplicate using aliquots of the original pulp and of an additional split of the coarse rejects. The reassay method comprises a 30 g fire assay with a gravimetric finish.
Noront designates samples in batches of 20. Each batch includes a certified standard, a blank (currently silica gel) and a duplicate. Duplicate samples are prepared by quartering a sample and submitting the quarters under separate tag numbers. The assay laboratory also reports its internal standards and blanks. The Bourlamaque Assay Lab holds a certificate of laboratory proficiency for the analysis of gold issued under the Proficiency Testing Program for Mineral Analysis Laboratories which is administered by CANMET.
Gold assays are reported to the company in parts per million (ppm) and reported publicly by the company in grams per tonne (1 ppm equals 1 gram). Conversion to ounces per ton (oz/ton) on the attached Table employs a factor of 34.285 grams per tonne equaling 1 troy ounce per short ton and core width of significant zones is also give in feet (1.0 meter equals 3.28 feet).
Studies are ongoing to determine the orientation, geometry and continuity of the gold bearing zones and are part of Noront's proposed exploration program that includes surface drilling and a decline to access a number of gold bearing zones for bulk sampling underground. It is the intention of this program to begin to define a gold resource (as per NI 43-101 guidelines) and to further outline and evaluate the gold deposits found within the Windfall Lake project area.
One of the qualified persons responsible for overseeing and reviewing the technical data on the Windfall Lake project is Patrick Chance P.Eng. The technical information prepared for disclosure in this Noront news release has been approved by Mr. Chance.
The current diamond drill program utilizing two diamond drills is being completed in an orderly fashion as determined by the Company's geological team including Tracy Armstrong, P.Geo (a qualified geologist in the Province of Quebec) of P & E Mining Consultants.
Stock Option Grant
The Company is pleased to report that it has secured the services of Mr. Patrick Chance M.Sc., P.Eng. to supervise the ongoing diamond drill program at Windfall Lake and the Directors have approved and granted to Mr. Chance a stock option for 50,000 shares at an exercise price of $3.35 expiring on the 25th day of September, 2012.
Noront Resources Ltd. further wishes to advise that the acceleration clause has been triggered on 1,125,000 warrants at $0.25 issued to the private placement completed December 2005. Accordingly, the expiry date of these warrants is now October 26th, 2007 (see press release dated December 22, 2005 for details.
Noront is a tier 2 junior resource company on the TSX Venture Exchange, trading symbol NOT, with 98,847,807 shares issued to date.

Posted by: AGORACOM on September 27, 2007 09:15AM
DOUBLE EAGLE (Cu,Ni,PGE) PROJECT, JAMES BAY LOWLANDS, ONTARIO
TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 27, 2007) - Noront Resources Ltd. ("Noront")(TSX VENTURE:NOT) is pleased to announce final assay results from the fifth hole of the diamond drilling program on its' optioned claims where Noront is earning a 100 % interest, subject to royalties, on the Company's Double Eagle project located in James Bay Lowlands, northeastern Ontario. (See press release dated May 27, 2007 for details of this option agreement.)
HIGHLIGHTS
- Hole NOT-07-05 final assay results include; 68.3 meters averaging 5.9% nickel, 3.1% copper, 2.87 g/t platinum, 9.78 g/t palladium, 0.61 g/t gold and 8.5 g/t silver;
- 3 meter section of hole averaged 8.7% nickel, 10.9% copper, 40.79 g/t platinum, 14.57 g/t palladium, 9.39 g/t gold and 8.7 g/t silver
- Hole NOT-07-07 that undercut hole NOT-07-05 intersected the sulphide zone at 73 meters core length and remained in sulphide bearing peridotite until 124 core length, and was terminated at 149 meters;
- Drilling continues to explore new discovery, Hole NOT-07-08 designed to undercut hole 7 underway;
- Detailed ground geophysical program continues;
- Acquisition of additional claims surrounding the discovery area continues around the "Ring of Fire".
Hole NOT-04-05, observed to be the most significant hole to date, was positioned 50 meters to the northeast of Holes NOT-07-01 and 02 (assays previously reported see press release dated September 25, 2007) and was drilled vertically at the peak of a magnetic anomaly to ascertain the magnetic body's more precise location. Nickel and copper bearing sulphides were encountered in a peridotite between 7 meters and 47.4 meters. Between 47.4 and 112.6 meters, massive chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite and pentlandite was observed, a short section between 112.6 and 115.6 meters downhole received exceptionally high values for contained metal. This section is described as a brecciated zone consisting of peridotite within massive sulphides. The high grade section was followed by peridotite with interstitial chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite and pentlandite to the end of the sulphide zone at 127.4 meters. The hole then entered granodiorite until the end of the hole at 143.4 meters. Assay results from this hole are summarized in the following table:
-------------------------------------------------- from to int. Cu Ni Pt Pd Au AgHole (m) (m) (m) (%) (%) (g/t) (g/t) (g/t) (g/t)--------------------------------------------------NOT-07- 05 7.0 124.4 117.4 2.2 4.1 2.09 7.13 0.42 6.3--------------------------------------------------including 47.4 115.6 68.2 3.1 5.9 2.87 9.78 0.61 8.5--------------------------------------------------including 112.6 115.6 3.0 10.9 8.65 40.79 14.57 9.39 8.7--------------------------------------------------
Hole NOT-07-07 has recently been completed. This hole is positioned at the same collar location as holes NOT-07-01 and 02 (a few meters away to allow for drill setup), however the azimuth was set at due east, to undercut Hole NOT-07-05 from the west. The initial dip of this hole was set at -45 degrees. The hole entered the peridotite bearing sulphide unit at 73 meters core length and remained in sulphides until 124 meter core length for a drill intercept for 51 meters. Chalcopyrite, pentlandite and pyrrhotite enriched sections have been reported in this drill hole. The latter sulphide intersection is believed to approximate true width.
The aforementioned assay and sample information, as well as geological descriptions are taken from drill logs as prepared by site geologists for the drill program, Dr. Howard Lahti, P.Geo., of Fredericton, New Brunswick and Mike Kilbourne. Billiken Management Services Inc. is providing all services on site for the Noront Double Eagle Project, from their base camp at McFaulds Lake.
All samples herein were selected, and sealed and readied for shipment to ALS Chemex laboratory in Thunder Bay Ontario, they were assigned a "RUSH ASSAY" request. All samples reported upon herein were selected by either Dr. Howard Lahti, P.Geo. or Mike Kilbourne (geologist), and were cut in half by diamond core saw. Individual samples were labeled, placed and sealed in plastic sample bags. Groups of samples were then placed into durable rice bags that were secured by project security tags and then placed into plastic pails for shipping. Plastic pails were delivered via bonded carrier to ALS Chemex's sample preparation laboratory in Thunder Bay, Ontario. All samples were then crushed and pulverized, then sample pulps were sent to ALS Chemex Laboratory in Vancouver B.C. for analysis, remaining coarse reject portion of the samples remain in storage at the ALS Chemex storage facility in Thunder Bay. In Vancouver, the samples underwent multi-element analysis using ALS Chemex assay procedure ME-MS61, and PGM MS24 for Au, Pt, and Pd. When samples received over-limit values they underwent further analysis using ALS Chemex assay procedure Cu-OG62 (for copper) and Ni-OG62 (for nickel), and PGM - ICP27 (for gold, platinum and palladium). The reader is referred to: www.alschemex.com for details of analytical procedures.
In light of this exciting Nickel - Copper and PGE discovery, with high economical potential, Noront continues with an aggressive exploration and staking campaign and have dubbed the area the "Ring of Fire". Noront has requested a second drill for the project to speed up the drilling program. It is Noront's understanding that this drill will be arriving within a week or so, being supplied by Cabo Drilling. In addition, Noront is planning to drill through the freeze-up period with the two drills.
