Calypte Introduces Over-the-Counter Rapid Oral HIV Test

LAKE OSWEGO, Ore., Jan. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Calypte Biomedical Corporation (Amex: HIV) today announced the introduction of an over-the- counter (OTC) version of the Aware(TM) Oral Fluid HIV-1/2 Rapid Diagnostic Test. Calypte expects to initially launch the sale of this product in over-the-counter markets in the United Arab Emirates, where the product has been registered, and then plans to distribute it throughout the entire Middle East as additional registrations and/or approvals are obtained.

The OTC Aware Oral Fluid HIV-1/2 Rapid Diagnostic Test will be distributed by Joseph and Gionis, Calypte's exclusive distributor for 22 Middle Eastern countries with a population of approximately 465 million people. According to the December 2004 UNAIDS report, there are between 230,000 and 1.5 million adults and children living with HIV within this region, of which nearly half are women.

Und warum?: Weil jeder weiss, dass Verkäufe in den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten genauso wenig bringen, wie wenn sie die Zulassung in Liechtenstein bekommen hätten und dort mit dem Verkauf starten. Wieder so 'ne Hoch-Zock-Und-Fallen-Lassen-Wie-Ne-Heisse-Kartoffel-Meldung. Hoffe für Euch, dass Ihr diese Meldung zum raschen Ausstieg nutzt.

schon über 5 Mio. shares gehandelt in USA, die Meldung ist doch super heute.  

Vordergründig gebe ich dir Recht, hört sich gut an aber: s. mein Posting oben. Und noch was: Die Saudis und andere islamische Staaten können den Test zwar freigeben, aber dort wird den Test kaum einer einsetzen. Erstens, weil diese Staaten sexuell viel zu verklemmt sind und die Tests mit Sicherheit nicht in der Apotheke frei verkäuflich sind und zweitens, weil die männliche Überheblichkeit/Machotum dort viel zu ausgeprägt ist.
Drittens wird wieder nix konkretisiert, weder Gewinn, Umsatzerwartung etc.
Ergo: Für mich ist die Meldung mal wieder nix wert. Wer jetzt kauft, ist morgen wieder der Dumme.
