Steigende Preise für landwirtschaftliche Produkte treiben bei Tractor Supply das Wachstum an. Der Konzern aus Tennessee baute in den vergangenen Jahren eine Einzelhandelskette für Produkte auf, die zur Ausstattung von Bauernhöfen bis hin zu Kleingärtnern gehören. Mittlerweile betreibt Tractor Supply 1050 Filialen mit durchschnittlich rund 1500 Quadratmeter Ladenfläche. Ziel des Managements ist, die Kette auf 1800 Filialen in 48 US-Bundesstaaten auszudehnen. Daher kann sich auch die Umsatzentwicklung sehen lassen. 2007 erwirtschafteten die Amerikaner 2,7 Milliarden US-Dollar, 2010 waren es bereits 3,6 Milliarden, und für 2012 werden 4,5 Milliarden Dollar geschätzt. Da in den USA die Anbauflächen ausgeweitet werden und immer mehr Private eigene Gärten aufbauen, sollte die Nachfrage nach den rund 19 000 von Tractor Supply angebotenen Produkten hoch bleiben.
