April 3 (Bloomberg) -- Namibia Water Corp., the state-owned water utility, plans to build a second desalination plant to cater for increasing demand for water from existing and planned uranium mines.
The facility will be built on Namibia's Atlantic coastline at a cost of 1.5 billion Namibian dollars ($192.1 million), Chief Executive Officer Vaino Shivute told reporters today in the capital, Windhoek. The plant is expected to be commissioned in 2010 and will have the capacity to pump 25 million cubic meters (6.6 billion gallons) of water a year.
``Due to pressure on groundwater sources, we were directed by the government to construct a desalination plant,'' Shivute told journalists in Windhoek.
Namibia is Africa's biggest producer of uranium, after Niger, according to the Web site of the Uranium Information Centre.UraMin Inc., a unit of Areva SA, is will open the southern African nation's biggest uranium mine in July, while Perth-based Bannerman Resources Ltd. and Vancouver-based Xemplar Energy Corp. are among companies exploring for the nuclear fuel in the country.
NamWater is already building a desalination plant jointly with Uramin, which is expected to be commissioned at the end of 2009. The facility will have the capacity to pump 20 million cubic meters a year and serve Uramin's Trekkopje project.
``All capital and operational costs associated with desalination and supply of desalinated water will be carried by the mining companies, either by capital payment upfront or via water tariffs,'' Shivute said.
Five More Mines
Demand from the existing mines, such as Rio Tinto Plc's Rossing Uranium mine and Paladin Resources Ltd.'s Langer Heinrich operation, and planned projects will increase water demand by 53 million cubic meters a year by 2015, Shivute said. Namibia currently consumes 67 million cubic meters a year.
``Five more uranium mines are being planned and if the current price of uranium holds, we expect them to be commissioned by 2015,'' Shivute said
Toronto-based Forsys Metals Corp. will commission its Valencia mine in Namibia by September 2009, while Bannerman's mine, as well as projects by Perth-based Extract Resources Ltd. and West Australian Metals Ltd., are scheduled to come on line in 2011. Deep Yellow Ltd. is expected to begin production in Namibia in 2013.
Uranium prices have fallen 49 percent to $71 a pound since hitting a record $138 a pound on June 6 last year, according to Metal Bulletin data.

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 29, 2008) - Forsys Metals Corp. (TSX:FSY - News; FRANKFURT:F2T - News; NSX:FSY) ("Forsys" or the "Company") is pleased to report the initial percussion drilling results from the 10,000 m percussion drilling programme at the Company's 100% owned Valencia Uranium deposit ("Valencia") in Namibia, Africa. As described in the Company's news release dated January 14, 2008, this programme is designed to expand the Valencia resource to the North, South and East as well as below the proposed Main Zone pit floor. Historically few drill holes have been completed below a 200-250 m depth in these areas.
The first 3,850 m of the percussion drilling campaign comprised ten (10) vertical holes located south and west of the Valencia Main Zone with one hole located within the Transition Zone (refer to Figure 1).
Results demonstrate the following:
- Uranium mineralization encountered from surface to drill hole bottom (350 m) potentially increasing the uranium resource south of the current Valencia deposit
- Ten drill holes terminated in uranium mineralization of varying grades, some higher than the June 2007 reserve estimate (Forsys Metals Corp; Valencia Project, Namibia - Technical Report, Snowden Mining Industry Consultants Pty Ltd). These results confirm the potential for depth extension.
To view "Figure 1 - Schematic Plan View of Pit Surface; view of some diamond drill holes and percussion holes" and "Figure 2- NE-SW Schematic Longitudinal Section of Proposed Valencia Pit Looking North", please visit the following link: http://media3.marketwire.com/docs/429fsy_figures1and2.pdf.
Selected results of the drilling South of the Main Zone including holes with grades higher than the current Valencia reserve grade of 0.120 Kg/T are shown in the table below (refer to the Company's website at http://www.forsysmetals.com for full results).

10,000 m drilling programme
(1) The results in this news release are reported as equivalent ppm U3O8.
The Company has calculated a correlation between grade thickness product
of gamma counts (counts per second) collected by down hole geophysical
methods and the grade thickness product of chemical assays from Forsys'
drill hole library (otherwise known as GT Chem and GT Rad). That
correlation has been established with over 100 GT intervals and is used
to calculate eU3O8 in the percussion drill holes from gamma probe
survey with a resulting correlation coefficient of 0.99 (estimation of
confidence level).
The remaining 6,150 m of the programme is progressing well with a second drill rig being added; results of the Company's findings are forthcoming.
Duane Parnham, the Company's President & CEO, commented: "Management is encouraged with the initial results of the percussion drilling program and its potential to add substantially to Valencia's resources and reserves".

gleichen Chartverlauf , stark fallend.
Liegt es an der z.Z. mangelden Risikobereitschaft ,
nach großen Kursrückgängen geht das Geld langsam und
vorsichtig in den Markt zurück .Wobei erst "sichere"
Blue Chips bevorzugt werden und später wieder
Kapital in Risikopapiere fließt , also im Rohstoffsektor
The Mining Licence is expected to be issued following the delivery by VUL of its acceptance of the applicable standard terms and conditions. VUL is in the process of returning its signed acceptance and anticipates that the Mining Licence will be issued within a few weeks. The Mining Licence will be valid for a term of twenty five (25) years from the date of issuance, and will allow full scale development of the Valencia Uranium Mine to proceed.
Duane Parnham, President and CEO of Forsys remarked "Granting of the Mining Licence is the most significant milestone in the development of Valencia. This Mining Licence will be only the second new uranium production licence to be granted within the last two decades in Namibia". Duane Parnham further stated "Valencia is scheduled to produce approximately 3 million pounds of U308 per year over the life of mine, commencing in early 2010. We would like to acknowledge the professionalism of the Ministry of Mines and Energy of Namibia as well as other Government bodies for their cooperation in the licence approval process."

Metals Morning Note
Thursday June 19, 2008

Namibia
In a world in which so many jurisdictions are closing the door to uranium mining, here's why acquirers must be focusing
their attention on Namibia
Areva SA, the integrated French nuclear power plant manufacturer and uranium miner, has received a mining license for its
Trekkopje uranium mine in Namibia, according to Bloomberg this morning. Uranium production at Trekkopje, which is
expected to have a capital cost of approximately US$750 million, is expected to commence in 2009 at rate of approximately 8
million lbs per year. While the granting of the mining license was not unexpected, we do view the above development as positive because the
development of the project includes a US$180 million desalination plant which could provide water to other uranium mines
in the area.
In another Bloomberg article, NamPower, which is the state-run power utility in Namibia, announced that it plans to build an
800 megawatt coal-fired power plant in order to meet the demand from uranium mines. NamPower stated that it intends to
announce the capital cost of the project once it has consulted with local residents. NamPower is planning on investing
approximately US$1.11 billion over five years to expand electricity generation.
Meanwhile, the Namibian government is looking at liberalizing its immigration law so as to address a shortage of skilled
workers in the country, according to Mining Weekly. The government is looking at granting three-year work permits to
foreigners with critical skills instead of the one-year permits that are currently being granted. Given the current social
upheaval in neighboring South Africa, the new law could draw much-needed skilled labour from South Africa into relatively
stable Namibia.
We see the above developments, water, power and labour, as highly positive for Forsys Metals Corp. (FSY - TSX;
Cdn$4.40; TOP PICK) which is developing its Valencia uranium project in Namibia. We expect, because of the highly
proactive Namibian government, that there should be enough water and power and skilled labour available to meet the
requirements of the Valencia project.
The Company hereby confirms that its mineral resources and mineral reserves at Valencia are as set out in the following excerpt taken from the June 2007 NI 43-101 Technical Report prepared by Snowden Mining Industry Consultants (Pty) Limited and filed on SEDAR at www.sedar.com on June 28, 2007.

The fourth rig was added in order to accelerate drilling activity prior to the updating of the resource/reserve estimate on the Valencia deposit. The north radiometric anomaly was identified from recent ground geophysical surveys completed over the entire Valencia ore body. The anomaly is located within the initial open pit shell design, as described in the 2007 NI 43-101 Technical Report, however it has never been drill tested.
