Recherchen in NL und USA haben eingehende Gerüchte um den bis dato nicht an die Öffentlichkeit getretenen Investor bei Letsbuyit.com aufgetan. Nachdem mit Kimvestor und Aldi bereits mehrere Namen in diversen Foren aufgetaucht waren, ist nun ein drittes namhaftes Unternehmen im Spiel:

Wal-Mart.

Wal-Mart hat Anfang letzten Jahres sein Portal Wal-Mart.com
in Partnerschaft mit einer der grössten amerikanischen Venture-Capital Gesellschaften Accel Partners gegründet. Der Sitz der pre-IPO company befindet sich im Silicon-Valley, USA.

Accel Partners ist u.a. verstärkt im Bereich e-commerce tätig.

Zusätzlich genährt wird dieses Gerücht von der Tatsache, das bereits ein Unternehmen Namens LETSTALK.COM (www.letstalk.com) im Portfolio der Beteiligungsgesellschaft zu finden ist.

Hier werden, ähnlich dem Konzept von LetsBuyIt Waren über das Internet angeboten, u.a. Handys und Pocket-Computer.

Dies wiederum deckt sich mit dem mitgeteilten zukünftigen Focus von Letsbuyit auf bestimmte Produktbereiche.
