Ground has been broken in Western Australia on what will be the world’s only heavy rare earth production site outside of China.
The premier of Western Australia, Mark McGowan, was among those attending the groundbreaking ceremony at Northern Minerals’ Brown Range site, which is...

Two of the six largest rare earth companies in China announced price increases in early August for both light rare earths in the north of the country and middle/heavy rare earths in the south.
In northern China, China Northern Rare Earth Hi-Tech Group raised the prices for cerium oxide, praseodymium/neodymium oxide...

"The required new “Lynas after next” may well be Alkane, a very good project.
But the next expansion is very likely to be from Lynas adding another solvent extraction line or 2, beyond the current 4.
The reason is that the cracking and leaching “front end” of the LAMP – the most expensive bit- has considerable spare capacity now it’s optimised. (I believe they’re running 2 of the four kilns, with another on warm standby, for example.)"
The statement asks the six rare earth groups not to take the lead in raising prices, but it may still be hard to hold down the rising tendency, Zhan added.
The National Rare Earth Office issued a statement on Aug 8 to the six largest rare earth groups in China, including Aluminum Corporation of China Ltd and China North Rare Earth (Group) Hi-tech Co Ltd, asking them to help stabilize the rare earth market, according to industry insiders.
Part of the reason for the rapid rise in prices since June has been a lack of co-ordination in price settings and the stocking up of supplies in the rare earth market.
Another reason for the rising price from January to May is that China has eliminated capacity by closing many illegal factories, said Zhan Sheng, a nonferrous metals expert from JZ Investment.
The surging prices of rare earth products may harm the whole industry by squeezing downstream firms, Xu said.
In 2011, surging prices forced many small downstream companies out of the sector and led to a slump in the entire industry for more than five years.

"Great, got to love it when the Insto's come on board. Banks, Super Investors, Financial Institutions etc etc..
226 million shares is pretty serious, at an average of $0.15c = $33,900,000.00.
I can see this heading to $.30c+ before the end of year easy."

Outside of China, Lynas Corporation, the world’s second largest producer of NdPr oxide, is a contracted supplier to virtually all of Japan’s major rare earth trading houses and magnets manufacturers – namely Sojitz, Daido Steel, and Showa Denko – and is also a supplier to Shin-Etsu in Vietnam, leaving little-to-no capacity available for the spot market.
What do we expect in the near-term?
1. Spot NdPr oxide prices will remain strong
2. Size of Chinese spot market will continue to shrink as more end-users lock up long-term offtake
3. Lynas will see increased NdPr oxide demand from China
4. Smaller magnet makers in China will be shaken off, increasing ‘Big 6’ control over the supply chain

ansonsten gilt, ASX rules.... ;)
bondholders have converted a further portion of their convertible bonds from debt into
equity. The value of the bonds converted is US$37,833,333. The debt reductions
announced in August 2017 now total US$77.83 million. As a result, the principal
amounts of Lynas’ debt facilities have been further reduced to the following:
1. JARE Facility – US$185 million
2. Convertible Bond Facility – US$162.17 million
This is a further important step in improving the company’s Balance Sheet as Lynas
continues to position itself for its next phase of growth.
As a result of the conversion of bonds, 504,444,440 new ordinary shares will be issued
today.
