PTC Receives $2.2 Million Order from KUHN of France
WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 7, 2000--
--------------------------------------------------
PTC's Pro/ENGINEER flexible engineering solutions in first step toward e-Business initiative at KUHN
PTC (NASDAQ: PMTC) today announced it has received a $2.2 million order for its flexible engineering solution, including Pro/ENGINEER software and services, from KUHN, a world leader in farming equipment and accessories. KUHN (www.kuhnsa.com), with headquarters in Saverne, France, operates four production facilities in France, has sales offices worldwide, and is one of the largest companies in the international farming equipment market.
KUHN will deploy the PTC i-Series flexible engineering solutions, including Pro/ENGINEER and Pro/MECHANICA software, across its design and manufacturing departments, replacing the legacy 2D CADAM software. The PTC solution will enable KUHN to address its challenges of faster time-to-market and increasing competition. All software was shipped to the company during PTC's second fiscal quarter (ended April 1, 2000).
"PTC i-Series solutions enable us to deliver better products faster to market, which definitely gives us the possibility to strengthen our leadership in the farm machinery industry," said Michel Sieber, president of KUHN. Mr. Sieber added that his company completed an extensive evaluation of CAD offerings from various vendors before selecting PTC. "We're confident Pro/ENGINEER will also help ensure effective management of company knowledge re-use by accelerating and streamlining the design processes across our design and manufacturing operations. As a result, we can better focus on development of new products and services that will meet our customers' needs."
"PTC offers a large array of capabilities that afford manufacturers, like KUHN, the flexibility to make wholesale design changes without running high risks," said C. Richard Harrison, president and CEO of PTC. "We are confident that the use of PTC's flexible engineering solutions will help KUHN strengthen their competitive edge in the farm machinery industry by reducing time and cost."
