We are, at the heart, a membership company. And, as a membership company, it’s essential to us that we create a strong emotional connection with our consumers. Let’s take our e-commerce business as an example: if customers know exactly what they want, and want it now, there are a lot of companies they can go to, and we are also very competitive in that space. But if we want to create long-term value with our customers, we need them to understand that we are a place they can come for new discoveries. We need to establish a relationship of loyalty and trust – and sport is an extremely effective tool for building that kind of connection.

Und AMAZON und WhatsApp vor 50 Jahren ???
Na ja, du hast es halt nicht so mit Zahlen.
Viber's app was installed by 300 million people, compared with 950 million last September. At the same time, various reports say that only one third of the people who installed the app use it at least once a month.

Go-Jek, the direct rival of Uber and Grab in Indonesia, has raised a ballooning $1.2 billion from Tencent. The report first appeared on TechCrunch quoting two sources close to the company. The valuation of the ride-hailing firm post this round is $3 billion. Other investors that pumped in the money aren’t known but reportedly existing investors had also participated. The company is slated to make a formal announcement soon.
Prior to this, Go-Jek had secured $550 million in August 2016 at a valuation of $1.3 billion from the likes of Sequoia India, Northstar Group, DST Global, NSI Ventures, Rakuten Ventures, Warburg Pincus, among others.
Go-Jek claims to have more than 200,000 drivers across 25 cities in the nation.

Amazon isn’t giving up on Japan, despite trailing homegrown Japanese competitor Rakuten basically since it launched. The American eCommerce giant launched its books-only site in Japan in 2000 and has never quite gained an edge over Rakuten.
DI Marketing, an online marketing research firm, conducted a poll in April that found that 70.2 percent of digital buyers in Japan use Rakuten, versus 66.7 percent who use Amazon.
NTTCom Research and publisher Toyo Keizai found that Japanese shoppers visited Rakuten more regularly than Amazon and spent more money while they were there.
Only 7.9 percent of respondents shopped on Amazon at least once a week, and 27.8 percent visited just once every few months. The vast majority spent between $9 USD and $90 USD each visit, compared to much larger purchases made through Rakuten.
