Rakuten’s Movie Plans Take Off with ‘Hurricane’ Starring Iwan Rheon, Milo Gibson (EXCLUSIVE)

Rakuten TV is making a major movie play in Europe, and will invest millions of Euros into production this year and next. The streamer is on a mission to crunch release windows and the first project it has invested in is “Hurricane.” The World War II action thriller has “Game of Thrones” star Iwan Rheon, and Milo Gibson, who starred in “Hacksaw Ridge.” It will launch on Rakuten TV and in movie theaters in the U.K. on the same date in September.
Rakuten TV, which launched as Wuaki.tv and rebranded after being acquired by Japanese e-commerce giant Rakuten, has partnered with Kaleidoscope Entertainment on “Hurricane.” The streaming and download service will also release a yet-to-be-announced Spanish movie this year, and is working up a slate of up to five films from different European territories for 2019.

Doch das Fuß zu fassen im westlichen Markt scheint etwas schwierig zu sein. Was aktuell auf Kosten von Marketing geht. Ich gehe aber dennoch davon aus dass man mittelfristig die Marketing Kosten wieder senken kann und man sich nachhaltig auch im europäischen Raum etablieren kann.
@Azag-Thoth War direkt ungewöhnt der kleine Kurssprung bei Rakuten. Aber es zeigt wie es ablaufen wird. Es geht tiefer und tiefer und von einem Moment auf den anderen kommt ein scheinbar grundloser Kurssprung. Mal sehen was bei den Quartalszahlen passiert.
Gewinn von Ebates in den letzten vier Quartalen in Höhe von 67,6 Millionen US-Dollar verwiesen hatte.
Und ich hatte dort gegenüber den vier vorhergehenden Quartalen eine Steigerung um 29,8% angeführt.
Eingekauft hat mam Ebates vor vier Jahren für eine Milliarde Dollar - das ist aus meiner Sicht ein gutes Geschäft und zeigt auch, dass Rakuten im Ausland durchaus Erfolge hatte.
