TOKYO, Feb. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Genesis Healthcare Co., Japan's pioneer genetic testing and research company, has completed a third-party equity allocation to Rakuten, Inc. and Omron Healthcare Co., Ltd. Genesis' Capital has increased to 3.78 billion yen, and Genesis' post-money valuation is approximately 42 billion yen (*1).
As the market leader in the genetic testing and research field in Japan, Genesis has actively pursued development of the Japanese scientific landscape through numerous R&D, product development, awareness raising via human resource development and advanced education, and genetic data translation into useful solutions.
This will be Rakuten's second investment since its initial investment in August 2017. Rakuten's commitment to assist in the development and advancement of genetic technology and its useful applications in healthcare is a novel approach to fostering innovation.

Das ist ein Wert, den nach meiner Einschätzung nur wenige Unternehmen auf der Welt im Fintech-Bereich erreichen, wobei es allerdings auf die Definition und die Abgrenzung dieses Bereichs ankommt.

Das ist ein Umsatzmultiple von ca. 4 - angewendet auf die ca. 3 Milliarden Umsatz von Rakuten im Fintechbereich wären das allein 12 Milliarden Wert der Fintech-Aktivitäten von Rakuten, was schon die komplette Marktkapitalisierung von Rakuten momentan abdecken würde.

Tujia, the largest vacation rental platform of China, and Rakuten LIFULL STAY, the vacation rental provider of Rakuten Group, have concluded a business partnership agreement on expansion of the vacation rental business in Japan. According to the partnership, Rakuten LIFULL STAY will provide the Tujia platform with its properties listed on Vacation Stay, and also both of the companies will work together for marketing activities to increase travelers from China to Japan.

Lyft’s revenue grew more than $1 billion in 2017 — and beat Uber’s growth in Q4 by 2.75 times.
CNET reported that Lyft’s revenue growth was up 168 percent in the fourth quarter, while Uber’s increased by 61 percent.
“We’ve recently achieved record market share levels nationwide even as we significantly reduce sales and marketing expenses,” Brian Roberts, Lyft’s chief financial officer, said in a statement.
Earlier this year, Lyft revealed that it provided 375.5 million rides in 2017, which is up 130 percent year over year. The company also provided rides to a total of 23 million different passengers, which is a 92 percent jump from the prior year, and had 1.4 million drivers at the end of 2017, up 100 percent from the end of 2016.For its part, Lyft has hired several new executives and board members with financial backgrounds. The company is also working to slash sales and marketing costs, and expects the first quarter of this year to be its 20th consecutive quarter of 100 percent (year over year) revenue growth.

Eher hätte ich erwartet, dass ein neues Rückkaufsprogramm aufgelegt wird - denn man muss ja zum Beispiel bei Lyft nicht mit 12 oder 14% beteiligt sind, sondern ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass man da problemlos mit 5% weniger Beteiligung mehr als eine halbe Milliard für Rückkäufe freischaufeln könnte.
Und dafür ist das momentane Kursniveau genau so günstig wie für Nachkäufer, wie ich einer bin - wenn auch momentan nur in kleinen Häppchen bei frei werdender Liquidität. Aber die Ausschüttungszeit rückt ja jetzt an.

ORANGETEE & Tie, Singapore's third-largest property agency by sales force, has tied up with homegrown Carousell to add the property listings and reviews of its more than 4,000 agents to the online marketplace.
The collaboration comes on the heels of the launch of SoReal Prop last week, an online platform initiative led by top agencies PropNex Realty, ERA Realty and Huttons Asia.
OrangeTee & Tie, which has not joined SoReal Prop yet, said its tie-up with Carousell allows over 20,000 listings and more than 9,000 agent reviews from OrangeTee & Tie to be added to the Carousell platform within the next three months for free.
