Gilead’s Covid-19 Drug May Get FDA Nod ‘Very Soon,’ Piper Says
March 18, 2020, 3:29 PM
Gilead’s treatment for the novel coronavirus “could be approved for Covid-19 very soon,” a Piper Sandler analyst said, after what he called “highly encouraging” data in 200 patients for a similar medicine developed by Fujifilm.
“We now believe the remdesivir clinical trial results are likely to be positive,” analyst Tyler Van Buren said of neutral-rated Gilead’s experimental medicine
“If successful, it could be approved for broad use in the coming months considering it’s safe, the bar for efficacy in the context of the ongoing global pandemic is low,” he said

Spain: 3/14
France: 3/17
Germany:?
If the peak in Italy on 3/21 is real, that is ~2 weeks from the lockdown. China's Wuhan lockdown was on 1/20 and the peak occurred on 2/4.
Spain potentially formed a peak on 3/26?
Germany announced national lockdwon two weeks after Italy, so hopefully the peak comes later this week.

"Solid" is at least my interpretation...
the big US short seller CPMG reduced its short position from about 5.5% to 2.2% now.. that is massive (see link below) and explains the strong share price performance recently..
Nevertheless, still a lot to go, which will support the stock.

Thanks @dlg. Besides TSMC also the Semi equipment peers VAT and ASML with solid order intake!
So I expect a solid order intake quarter as well for Aixtron in Q1, lets hope they can accelerate the order intake with Q2 and then also update us with regards to QD OLED as we move through the year.

This could be the beginning of an end. Aixtron has been doing well, proving the strength of this company.
Two conclusions that I would draw: i) I don’t think that CPMG was accountable for 78% of XETRA turnover on that day, i.e. kind of a proof for me that a significant part of trading volumes have shifted to other exchanges as well. ii) on a day when the DAX jumps >300 points and a single HF is covering 625k shares equal to 78% of the XETRA trading volume, the share declined by 1%, i.e. the actual impact of short activities (be it opening of positions or be it covering of positions), seems to me limited which confirms my view that we should be more relaxed in terms of reported short activities.
Appreciate any other views as usual.
I would not be focussed on Xetra volumes, they cover only a small part of "true" trading volumes. I cannot give you a precise value/share but from experience in my job I can tell you that Block trades via off-market exchanges like dark pools, institutional trading platforms (where institutionals trade directly with each other) etc provide MUCH more liquidity than Xetra cash markets.
One obvious advantage of buying outside a regulated market is that you dont move the stock price as much, compared when you buy the hole order book at Xetra, where each bid-ask spread is in 5 cent steps..
So just from my experience: dont look at Xetra volumes, they dont add value. And I agree with you, CPMG has certainly drove the stock higher and with them now <2% short, expect the stock to lose some of its momentum.
Turquoise is an example for an alternative trading plattform: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turquoise_(trading_platform)
