FortuneCity.com Inc. ., the 17th largest Internet property according to Media Metrix multi-country ratings with a network of personal publishing,
content and entertainment sites, responded to persistent rumours about immanent bankruptcythe description of the company’s financial position
as published in the Platow Brief by stating that it has absolutely no liquidity problems.

In the Platow Brief of Friday July 7, the only “Liquidity” credited to FortuneCity.com per 31.03.2000 were the “cash and cash equivalents.”
Because FortuneCity is interested in attaining the highest return on investment for its considerable cash reserves, however, USD 37.3 million
were invested in safe, sort-term investments at that time. Therefore, FortuneCity.com Inc. true cash position is in fact more than USD 44 million
rather than the USD 6.95 million published in the Platow Brief. The liabilities also of USD 6.95 million cited by Platow Brief correspond to no
position in the Fortune City Balance Sheet.

The company believes that its ’s existing cash reserves position is are sufficient to finance all presently planned business activities until the
company turns cash flow positive. FortuneCity.com expects to reach break-even by the end of next year without resort to the capital markets.”


FortuneCity.com Inc. weißt die Darstellung des Platow Briefes über eine prekäre finanzielle Lage zurück und gibt bekannt, daß die Firma kein
Liquiditätsproblem hat.

Im Platow Brief vom Freitag, dem 7. Juli wurden als Liquidität für FortuneCity.com zum 31.03.2000 nur die Barreserven angegeben. Weil
FortuneCity.com daran interessiert ist, die höchstmögliche Rendite auf Barreserven zu erzielen, wurden Barreserven in Höhe von USD 37,3 Mio.
in kurzfristig festverzinsliche Instrumente investiert. Die wahren Barreserven von FortuneCity.com Inc. betrugen daher mehr als USD 44 Mio.,
anstatt der im Platow Brief angegebenen USD 6.95  Mio. Die im Platow Brief veröffentlichten „Verbindlichkeiten“, ebenfalls in Höhe von USD
6.95 Mio., entsprechen keiner Position der FortuneCity.com Bilanz.

Das Unternehmen glaubt, daß die vorhandenen Barreserven ausreichend sind, um alle derzeit geplanten Geschäftsaktivitäten bis zur Erreichung
eines positiven Kapitalflusses finanzieren zu können.
