BEIJING MOBILE CONNECTS WITH IONA'S ARTIX
IONA's Extensible Enterprise Service Bus Integrates Carrier's Operations and CRM Systems
Dublin, Ireland & WALTHAM, Mass - May 2, 2005 - IONA® Technologies (NASDAQ: IONA), a world leader in high-performance integration solutions for mission-critical IT environments, today announced that Beijing Mobile Communications Corporation (Beijing Mobile), a subsidiary of China Mobile Communications Corporation, has selected Artix™, IONA's extensible Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). The mobile communications provider, which has more than 6.5 million subscribers and offers services including mobile voice, SMS, MMS, data, IP telephony and multimedia services chose Artix to facilitate integration between its Business Operation Support System (BOSS) and its new Siebel-based CRM solution.
"Beijing Mobile is a long-time Orbix® customer, and as such, we understand and appreciate the power and flexibility of standards-based computing and the competitive advantage that can be gained by having an architecture that enables fast and efficient introduction of new services to our subscribers," explains Ding Jian, manager of technical support, Billing Division, Beijing Mobile. "With our selection of Artix, we are helping to ensure that the investment we've made in CORBA® is extended to support the newer technologies and applications that are key to the ongoing success of our business."
Beijing Mobile's BOSS is the technology foundation that supports the mobile carrier's daily business operations, such as billing, service provisioning and service activation, among others. Seamless and accurate transport of the information contained in BOSS is crucial to the effective and efficient operation of Beijing Mobile's CRM systems. When Beijing Mobile decided to upgrade their CRM application to one from Siebel that relies on TIBCO's BusinessWorks as its Business Process Management (BPM) engine, they needed to make certain that the core business and data services provided by BOSS could be used by the new system. Instead of using the CORBA adaptor offered by TIBCO, Beijing Mobile instead opted for Artix, citing the product's high performance and flexibility as key factors in the decision.
"With Artix, Beijing Mobile has a powerful technology that helps them meet their current integration challenges while providing the flexibility to prepare them to meet new challenges in the future," said Peter Zotto, CEO, IONA Technologies. "Artix gives companies like Beijing Mobile the ability generate a valuable return on existing IT assets today, while at the same time establishing a solid foundation on which new IT initiatives can be quickly an cost-effectively built and deployed."

The BOSS (Business Operation Support
System) project is a framework that integrates
Beijing Mobile´s network operations. The
tender to implement Beijing MobileÕs BOSS
project was awarded to Forlink Software
Corporation, a leading provider of Application
Integration Technology (AIT) solutions and
services for several industries in China. BOSS
is based on Forlink´s For-MDC (Mobile Data
Center), which is a CORBA framework built on
"mission critical").
Wir müssen da auf Nachrichten warten. Vielleicht findet sich ja was bei Siebel.

hier ein paar Infos zu Siebel:

Bis später
Naja...

Hab noch was gefunden... http://www.watchmark.com/news/BP_0205.pdf
Redi
"Instead of using the CORBA adaptor offered by TIBCO, Beijing Mobile instead opted for Artix, citing the product's high performance and flexibility as key factors in the decision. "

Daily News 2004/12/14
The first OCRM system in China entering into the second phase of construction
¡¡¡¡Recently, the first operational CRM (OCRM) system in China as constructed by Beijing Mobile Communications Company (BJMCC) and AsiaInfo has smoothly entered into the second phase of construction. During this period, AsiaInfo will go on working as the general software providers. Based on the work finished in the first phase, the company will work further to enhance the capability of OCRM system and finish the transition from BOSS to OCRM so that BJMCC can provide a comprehensive support to the individual and group customers in market promotion, sales promotion and business handling.
- deutlicher Anstieg ohne "Kunde A Beijing Mobile " - so über 350.000$
Letztens Jahr Q1
Q1 2004 (3 month):
Umsatz = 5,528,909
Umsatz v. Kunde A = 5,322,990 (96%) (unterschiedlich je nach Zahlungseingang!)
Umsatz ohne Kunde A = 205,919
Also bis morgen abwarten ...
gute Nacht redi

Thank you for the news update.
Please note that Beijing Mobile's BOSS system was developed by Forlink, not by these vendors you mentioned. This system/platform ensured CRM and other solutions to be deployed.

Beijing Mobile
In this mobile space there's new types of things that wouldn't have been possible before. Let me give just two examples of this. One is in China, a partnership with China Mobile. In Beijing the city has a lot of people who go around and inspect things and China Mobile decided that by giving those people the ability to use a software application where you could report, give the location, send in the picture and then have the work be dispensed out to other city employees, that they could greatly simplify the process and be far more responsive.
This is a great application for the regional operator for China Mobile, Beijing Mobile because it drove up the number of phones being used, number of customers and the amount of activity. And yet it was put together, the application, in just four months. So it's a great example where location information, photo information and an application can completely change the work process.
