Who is Daveona?
by ramunickel
Aloysius Laukai | New Dawn
The Chairman of the South West Corridor Land Owner Association Chairman , Patrick Heromate said that his association does not remember voting , Lawrence Daveona as the chairman of the overall Panguna Mine Affected Associations.
He told New Dawn FM today in Buka that Mr Daveona is a chairman of the Special Mine Lease Area only and must be voted by all associations to represent them. Mr. Heromate said that his association is the biggest group which represents the people of the Tailings area between Mamarego and Torokina.
He said that even though the Mining Division is slow in registering their Association, the BEC approved their group in 2010.
Mr. Heromate said that if the deal was made with good intentions, the ABG and also the other Landowner associations must be involved in all negotiations. He said that his group were not happy with what the National Minister and other Bougainville members are doing working against the ABG which is the only legitimate authority on Bougainville. Ends

. . . . . hat die Börse G E S P R E N G T .....
... h i h i h i .....
Rückfrage bei IB: You could contact us and ask us to review the price cap. However, since 0.56 is more than 20% above the closing price on the previous day and BOC has not been traded at above $0.56 since May 13, we cannot adjust the cap accordingly.
...
If BOC closed at $0.51, we might be able to adjust to $0.56. Please contact us anytime if you need us to review the cap.
10% Regel? Was sagt die genau aus?
Chan: Major crisis looms if policy remains unchanged
The National aka The Loggers Times
PNG will face a major crisis if it does not correct serious faults in its policy on the extraction of minerals, oil and gas, New Ireland Governor Sir Julius Chan says.
He said this yesterday at the New Guinea Islands forum on the review on mining policies in Kokopo, East New Britain.
"If we do not correct these serious issues, we will not only continue to fail to deliver progress to our people, we will put the very survival of our country at peril," Sir Julius said.
He said PNG needed a new vision for resource extraction, hence the review of the mining legislation was long overdue.
"We need to make some hard decisions, not just make some little changes around the edges," Sir Julius said.
"We need to decide that the people own the resources. Not the government and outsiders.
"We need to ensure that there is an equitable distribution of the benefits- not only to the landowners, the affected areas, provinces and government, but to the entire nation.
"But to develop a strategy of sustainable prosperity, we must first understand the mistakes we have made in the past and continue to make."
He added that PNG had been described as "a mountain of gold floating on a sea of oil".
"Yet we have squandered this wealth and in doing so condemned our people to poverty, to being left behind while others prosper," Sir Julius said.
"But if we are honest, we will admit that all of these projects have failed not because the resources have not been extracted but because they have resulted in no improvements in the lives of our people."
