Reconciliation by Tanis and Sir J hailed a success
BOUGAINVILLEANS and other people who attended the reconciliation ceremony between New Ireland Governor Sir Julius Chan and Autonomous Region of Bougainville President James Tanis hailed the occasion as a success.
The reconciliation ceremony was a follow-up of what was started by the late president Joseph Kabui last year.
The late Mr Kabui led a delegation to Kavieng last year to reconcile with Sir Julius, who was prime minister at the time of the Bougainville Crisis and as chairman of the National Executive Council (NEC) and was also involved in the engagement of the Sandline Mercenaries to crush the Bougainville Revolutionary Army (BRA) in 1997.
Leaders from both Bougainville and New Ireland performed some rituals such as the washing of feet, breaking of bows and arrows and exchanging of gifts.
Bougainville leaders were led by Mr Tanis to wash the feet of the New Irelanders and, in return, the visitors led by Sir Julius washed the feet of the Bougainvillean leaders.
These rituals were witnessed by leaders from the Bougainville region, PNG and visitors from the international community.
Mr Tanis and Sir Julius said the occasion would go down in history as an historical event for both provinces.
They assured the outside community that the past had now been buried and forgotten.

GUESTS at the Autonomous Bougainville Government’s anniversary celebrations witnessed the handing over of two firearms to government authorities over the weekend. Former fighters in the area handed over the firearms to the Member for South Bougainville, Steven Perika Kama. The weapons were taken to Buka and were handed over to Police Commissioner Gari Baki during the celebrations for registration before being destroyed. During the event it was stated that there were many more firearms in the hands of people that needed to be surrendered to law enforcing agencies for destruction. ABG President James Tanis and his government had declared 2009 as year of peace, reconciliation and weapons disposal.

Vollkommen anders als die kleinen und mittleren Minen verhalten sich gewöhnlich die großen Seniorproduzenten. Ihr Börsenwert richtet sich vor allem nach dem aktuellen KGV. Also nehmen die Produktion und der aus ihr abgeleitete Gewinn einen besonders hohen Stellenwert ein. Da die Exploration jedoch im ersten Moment nur Kosten verursacht und einen potentiellen Gewinn erst Jahre zu Tage fördert, schmälern diese Ausgaben nur den Gewinn. Folglich werden sie von den Seniorproduzenten gemieden, wo immer es geht.

Die Exploration neuer Lagerstätten und Projekte durch eigene Teams nimmt deshalb bei den Seniorproduzenten nur einen untergeordneten Stellenwert ein. Um dennoch der Gefahr eines reduzierten Minenlebens zu entgehen, werden neue Reserven in größeren Abständen immer wieder von außen zugekauft. Dieser Weg ist zwar nicht unbedingt der billigere, aber er ist schonender für den Kurs und wird deshalb gerne beschritten.

Für das übernehmende Unternehmen kommt es nicht nur darauf an sich irgendwelche neuen Reserven zuzukaufen. Will man sich nicht an verschiedenen Produktionsorten verzetteln, muss einerseits darauf geachtet werden, dass die Metallgehalte eine wirtschaftliche Ausbeute ermöglichen. Andererseits müssen die Projekte über eine ausreichende Größe verfügen.

Aus dieser Perspektive kann es deshalb für den übernehmenden Seniorproduzenten sinnvoll sein, nicht nur ein einzelnes kleines Projekt zu übernehmen, sondern gleich mehrere. Man kauft sich also bildlich gesprochen nicht nur eine einzelne Mine zu, sondern organisiert sich gleich einen ganzen Minendistrikt, wenn dies möglich ist.

Als Investor können Sie davon ebenfalls profitieren, etwa dann, wenn Sie in großer Nähe zu einem übernommenen Junior eine weitere Mine oder eine weitere Lagerstätte entdecken, die eine ähnliche metallurgische Struktur aufweist und sich ebenfalls zur Übernahme anbieten würde. Eine Gewissheit, dass auch sie bald übernommen wird hat man dadurch natürlich nicht, doch die Chance mit einem Aufpreis auf den aktuellen Kurs übernommen zu werden besteht allemal.

Reservenvergrößerung durch Hochstufung von Ressourcen zu Reserven

Abschließend sei noch der einfachste Weg die Reserven zu erhöhen erwähnt: eine Änderung beim angenommenen Preis für das verkaufte Erz. In jeder Durchführbarkeitsstudie werden Metallpreise zugrunde gelegt. Normalerweise wird eher vorsichtig kalkuliert. Liegt der Goldpreis etwa bei 900 US Dollar je Unze, wird ein Unternehmen dennoch nur mit 600 Dollar kalkulieren um der finanzierenden Bank und seinen Aktionären zu zeigen, dass man auch bei schwächeren Preisen erfolgreich sein wird. Jene Erze, deren Abbau beim angenommenen Preis noch nicht rentabel ist, gehen nicht in die Reserve ein, sondern werden den Ressourcen zugerechnet. Steigt, um bei unserem Beispiel zu bleiben, der Goldpreis nun auf 1.000 Dollar an, kann das Management eine Erhöhung der Reserven und damit eine weitere Verlängerung des Minenlebens ganz einfach dadurch erreichen, dass man den angenommenen Verkaufserlös ebenfalls um 100 Dollar anhebt.

Da die Existenz des Erzes schon vorher bekannt war, ist diese Form der Reservenausweitung natürlich eher ein optischer Trick um die Mine besser dastehen zu lassen. Er ist zwar legitim, dennoch werden Sie mir sicher zustimmen, dass es einen erheblichen Unterschied macht, ob die Reserven durch neue Bohrungen oder durch Hochstufungen vergrößert werden. Achten Sie als Mineninvestor deshalb immer darauf, wie es um die Reserven und damit das weitere Minenleben Ihres Unternehmens bestellt ist und wie dieses ggf. vergrößert wird.

Schaut Euch mal den Chart an und macht Euch mal selber Gedanken. Hier wird bald wieder einer schreiben das der Chart hier gar nichts bedeutet..., na mich würde es nachdenklich stimmen...!!

...aber Euer Guru wird das schon wieder schön reden....???

jeder der hier investiert hat sollte sich ernsthafte Gedanken machen ob er der momentanen Nachrichtenlage und dem absolut unabhängigem Chart den ich ja in den vergangenen Postings gezeigt habe, weniger glauben will, wie dem Thread Guru der hier gebetsmühlenartig den Wert zu untermauern versucht...!!?? Nur meine Meinung und letztendlich ist es ja nicht mein Geld, aber das wollte ich halt mal schreiben....!!

Die Charttechnik ist doch nur für ein evtl kurzfristige Entwicklung interessant!  Der Chart spielt bei diesem Wert hier wirklich keine relevante Rolle!!!

Hier wird eine ganz andere Story gespielt wer die News verfolgt weiß was da gerade abgeht!

Hab gerade mit sehr viel Interesse und etwas erstaunen das offizielle Bekenntniss zur Wiedereröffnung zur
Panguna Mine gelesen! Aus dem Grud für mich etwas unerwartet, weil ich nicht dachte, dass diese Aussage während den noch laufenden Aussöhnungen getroffen wird!
Die nächsten Tage werden zeigen wie dies allgemein in der Bevölkerung aufgenommen wird...
(Man weiß ja nie!!!)
Tanis sprach auch noch von 3 Voraussetzungen:
- zustimmung der Landeigner
- Polizeischutz für die Landeigner(wenn ich das noch richtig verstanden hab)
- und das Dritte hab ich leider nicht mal Ansatzweise wahrnehmen können
Da würd ich dich doch um eine Ergänzung bitten!

Was mich auch noch wundert ist, dass der Kurs hier keine großen Sprünge macht...

Das erklärt, warum in den letzten Tagen keine grossen Sprünge zu sehen waren. Die meisten, denen die Situation bekannt ist, sind ohnehin bis über beide Ohren investiert.

The PNG national government is planning a reconciliation ceremony between the people of Buin before it establishes the much talked about border post in Kangu.

This was revealed today by Alexis Maino, the Director General of the International Relations Division and co-chair of the PNG Delegation.

Mr Maino said there must be a reconciliation at Kangu beach before the two governments can establish the border post.

New Dawn FM understands that the beach was the scene of the notorious Kangu Massacre during the Bougainville conflict.

This was the turning point in moving people to seek a peaceful way to end the war.

Acting ABG President, Patrick Nisira, wants the current border meeting in Buka to consider traditional border crossers.

He said discussions must protect the rights of traditional border crossers like those in the Shortlands, Otonjava and Choiseul Islands who have been trading with Bougainvilleans for many years without any conflict.

He said these people also have relatives on both sides of the border and, because of their remoteness and neglect by both governments, have always helped each other in times of need.

The Acting President made these comments when officially opening the meeting in Buka this morning.


He also commended organisers for choosing Buka as the venue for this very important meeting.

Working group seeks quick end to arms sales

The chairman of the Torokina war relics working group, Albert Magoi, says his group’s task is to end the illegal arms trade between Torokina and the Bougainville region.

The establishment of the working group has managed to stop these activities escalating into a major, uncontrolled situation, Mr Magoi told New Dawn FM.

The group is committed to upholding the Bougainville Peace Agreement and especially to weapons disposal throughout the island.

Mr Magoi says his would like the ABG and its partners to start developing economic activities in the Torokina district.


He said now an American team has identified unexploded bombs and other ammunition in the Torokina area, people must move quickly to get rid of this junk for once and for all.

MINISTER for Higher Education Michael Ogio is appealing to Bougainvillean elites to make an honest decision by assisting to shape the
Autonomous Bougainvillean Government pathway.
Mr Ogio said this during the 4th anniversary of the Autonomous Bougainville Government in Port Moresby.
Last weekend the UPNG Bougainvillean students organised the ABG celebration which brought the community of Bougainville, friends and
their extended families together at the University of Papua New Guinea drill hall to mark the four years ABG has been in autonomy.
A similar celebration was also held in Lae, Morobe Province, over the weekend organised by the Lae based Bougainvillean community
following the main celebration event which was held in Buka Island last Monday.
Mr Ogio challenged the UPNG Bougainvillean students to be committed in their studies and not engage and pre-occupy them by back
chatting to diminish the National Government of the day and the ABG’s image.
“What I want to see is for our young educated and committed brand of Bougainvilleans work with our people and to collaborate and bring
prosperity back to Bougainville”, Mr Ogio said.
The anniversary celebration was witnessed by invited guests, UPNG vice chancellor Professor Ross Hynes, ABG President and his
delegation, prominent Bougainvilleans and Port Moresby based businessmen and prominent leaders.

NORTH Bougainville MP and Higher Education Minister Michael Ogio has called on Bougainville elites to assist shaping the future of the Autonomous Bougainville Government. “I appeal to all Bougainvilleans working and living in others parts of the country and abroad to make an honest contribution by sharing your ideas, knowledge and experiences in your specific fields of training to assist the ABG achieve its goals and objectives in serving our people,” Mr Ogio said. He was speaking at the ABG’s 4th Anniversary Celebrations last weekend.

SI team visits B’ville
A TEAM from Solomon Island is currently in Bougainville for the 3rd PNG-Solomon Islands Joint Border Committee (JBC) meeting and the 8th PNG-Solomon Islands Senior Official meeting hosted by Papua New Guinea. Solomon Islands High Commissioner to PNG, Bernard Bata’anisia, said the delegation, led by the permanent secretary in the ministry of foreign affairs and external trade, George Hiele, includes representatives from other government ministries, departments and the private sector. The JBC meeting will be held in Buka, Bougainville, while the senior officials meeting will be held today in Buka as well.

New issue for border meeting
ACTING Autonomous Bougainville Government President Patrick Nisira wants the current border meeting held in Buka to consider traditional border crossers in their deliberations. He said traditional border crossers had helped each other in the past because they had relatives on both sides. Mr Nisira said because of the remoteness and neglect by both governments, the people along the border had been helping each other in times of need. He made these comments when officially opening the meeting in Buka yesterday. The border talks end tomorrow.
