Digital Angel Corporation Announces Initial Order of Proprietary
Bio-Thermo(TM) Implantable Microchips for Japanese Companion Pet Market
Patent-Pending RFID Chips Provide Accurate Temperature Readings in Addition to
Pet Identification
SO. ST. PAUL, Minn., Nov. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Digital Angel
Corporation (AMEX:DOC), an advanced technology company in the field of rapid
and accurate identification, location tracking, and condition monitoring of
high-value assets, announced today that it had received its first commercial
order from Japan for its proprietary Bio-Thermo(TM) Implantable Microchip, the
pet industry's first subdermal biosensor microchip that uses RFID
(radiofrequency identification) technology to identify a pet and provide an
accurate and reliable reading of its body temperature.
Osaka, Japan-based Dainippon Pharmaceutical, the exclusive Japanese distributor
of the Bio-Thermo microchip, has ordered 25,000 of the chips for the Japanese
companion pet market to be delivered in the first quarter of 2005. The
patent-pending Bio-Thermo microchip, which will initially be sold to the
approximately 8,000 veterinarian clinics in Japan, provides an easy,
non-invasive way to measure a pet's body temperature which is commonly used as
an indicator of its health.
The Japanese pet market, which includes an estimated 10 million dogs and 7.5
million cats, is the second international market for the Bio-Thermo chips. The
chips were first introduced on a test basis in the United Kingdom in 2003.
"Based on the success of our first market venture in Great Britain, and the
great reception we received there from vets and pet owners, we believe the
Bio-Thermo chip could become the standard of practice for veterinarians around
the world," said Digital Angel Chief Executive Officer Kevin McGrath. "As it
is a reliable, automatic way to monitor temperature, we believe our Bio-Thermo
product has applications in the livestock industry and for many other animals
as well."
The non-invasive proprietary Bio-Thermo chip is based on a newly developed
integrated circuit that has the ability to measure and monitor the temperature
of an animal by passing a proprietary hand held scanner over the area where the
microchip is implanted.

Digital Angel Corporation Delivers 265,000 Electronic RFID Tags to Canadian Distributors During November and December

PAUL, Minn., Jan. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Digital Angel Corporation (Amex: DOC - News), an advanced technology company in the field of rapid and accurate identification, location tracking, and condition monitoring of high-value assets, announced today that it has delivered more than 265,000 of its Radio Frequency Identification tags ("e-tags") to its Canadian distributors during the months of November and December.
The Company also announced that its global e-tag business increased by more than 400 percent in 2004 (as compared to 2003).
Commenting on the recent deliveries to Canada and the growth of Digital Angel's e-tag business in 2004, Kevin N. McGrath, CEO of Digital Angel stated, "Clearly, there is significantly increased demand from Canada and the world as a result of the need for national and global identification programs for livestock. The adoption of our RFID e.Tag(TM) and the associated systems has been building all year and we expect this trend to continue in 2005 and beyond as the US, Canada and other countries recognize the benefits of RFID as part of their overall traceability programs."
With regard to the confirmation over the weekend of a new case of Mad Cow Disease in a 10-year-old Canadian dairy cow, McGrath observed, "This cow did not enter the food chain, but even in a rare case, such as this, the existence of the disease reinforces the need for a comprehensive, reliable and effective livestock tracking system. positives Erscheinen im Aktionär ( die ihr KZ is 12€ )
so viel wird es wahrscheinlich nicht aber 8 - 9 € werden es schon werden
die technik mit den chips in reiskorngröße unter der haut - das wird die zukunft werden
bei den toten in sri lanka und indonesien haben sie ja auch welche den toten gegeben
um sie später zu exhuminizieren ( das wäre ja auch ein einsatzgebiet für diese art chips)
aber wir werden ja sehen.
